Rekids is a UK-based electronic label, conceived in 2006 by Matt Edwards (aka Radio Slave). In its relatively short existence, Rekids has quickly become one of the most respected underground labels around - releasing cutting-edge, electronic music that is effective off the dance-floor as well as on it. Some of the key artists represented by the label include Nina Kraviz, Mr. G, Luke Solomon, Spenc

er Parker, Toby Tobias, James Teej and of course Radio Slave himself. The Rekids sister-label ‘Pyramids Of Mars’ was also launched recently – an offshoot imprint that celebrates more experimental music, with genre-bending input from Vince Watson and Joe Claussell so far. The latest House of Rekids Mix Show comes from none other than Magda.

Genuinely one of our favourite DJs, Magda’s ability to work grooves loaded with funk, machine or otherwise, is second to none. From the minimal-era of the mid 2000s to now, she’s remained at the cutting edge of dance music while never losing her innate ability to move a dancefloor.

Smokin Jo steps up with a House of Rekids mix.

Smokin Jo is a trailblazer. The first and only female winner of DJ Mag’s Top 100 way back in 1992, Jo is a DJ who can truly fit in the category of a House legend. By the mid-90s, her reputation was far-reaching, with gigs at just about every notable club on the planet and a regular slot on BBC Radio 1 carrying her skills and selections worldwide. You name it, she’s done it - and if you don’t know just how important she is to the House music culture, then we suggest you grab a copy of her book ‘You Don’t Need a Dick To DJ’ and educate yourself. That is, of course, after you check out her brilliant House of Rekids Mix Show contribution. You can catch Jo at Defected Malta, Glitterbox Ibiza closing and Amsterdam Dance Event in the coming weeks, too.

Melbourne’s rising star William Kiss takes the spotlight in our latest Rekids mix.

One of the most promising talents in the scene today, William has already built an impressive catalogue, including his standout ‘Clap For Me EP’ released earlier this year on RSPX. We’re thrilled to have him join the series, especially after his stellar performance at our Rekids showcase at Berlin’s Watergate. If you caught him going b2b with label head Radio Slave, you know you’re in for something special with this mix.
