Remember that the Romanian film fest is coming on Saturday and Sunday! English subtitles and live discussions with the organizers from HORA. IT IS FREE, BUT YOU NEED TO REGISTER!

📣We are thrilled to invite you to the first Romanian Film Festival in Minnesota! The theme of this year’s film festival is: “Tales of Our Destiny”.

🗓️ The festival will take place in person at Landmark Center, Downtown St Paul, on November 18th and 19th 2023.

📹 For this first edition of the Romanian Film Festival, we are showing four popular, and recently produced, Romanian movies. Dorian Branea, Director of Romanian Cultural Institute in New York City, local Minnesota film critics and historians, as well as HORA staff will participate in Q&A sessions about the films and will provide significant cultural insight.

🎞️All movies are in Romanian language with English subtitles. Each movie will be free, but registration is required, as seats are limited.

🙏We would like to thank our intern Isabel Avery for designing the first edition posters. This Film Festival is possible with the support of the Romanian Cultural Institute in New York / ICR New York and through private sponsorships and donations.

Dear friends, you have followed Balkanicus Ensemble for years. They are invited to give two concerts on two international festivals in Bulgaria in the two largest Bulgarian cities on May 30th, and on June 3rd. There are accommodations and internal travel expenses taken care of, but the over the ocean trip is left to the musicians. If you can, please help! Also, help us spread the word!

DON'T MISS Balkan Jamboree show tonight!
Lubolmir Denev , the guest composer from Bulgaria for the 19th Balkanicus Concert which was last Saturday at Ultan Recital Hall of U of M - is going to be a special guest tonight on Balkan Jamboree and KFAI from 10pm-midnight. Here is a photo with him last Saturday after the world premiere of his piece Balkan Echo for cello and voice written specially for Balkanicus.
