We have expanded our test setup boats with a 1998 Najad - Yachts of Sweden 490 that needs a lot of TLC.

So we will be busy getting her ready for the 2024 season while pondering about a potential full interior refit later. We hope to entertain you all with our mistakes along the way - especially the nice and helpful people in the Najad Owners Forum - Fine Swedish Yachts.

But it will be a great platform to test the heap of Marine Electronics we have in backlog.

Should we go 48V Victron Energy ? Or stay on 24v?

Should we go B&G - or Raymarine as main electronics? We will still test all brands but the Najad 490 have old Raytheon + Raymarine C140W's. And B&G Zeus3s is past its prime. Garmin in "normal" sizes (7/9/12/16") are all past their prime too.

I guess both B&G and Garmin Marine might launch new plotters in the spring of '24 in the 7/9/12/16 inch segment. So should we wait?

The amount of 2nd hand boats for sale continue to increase. Scandinavia is high but starting to slow due to normal seasonal market shutdown.

The Used Boat index climbs to 4.45 points to 124.17 from last month - while continuing to set new records. Year on year the index is up by 18.95 point.
