Android users will soon get a new Gmail feature that will make their lives easy. Details here

Google has introduced new features for Android users on the Gmail platform. The tech giant will be introducing a new search filter in Gmail. These search filters will prove to be extremely beneficial in providing accurate results.

The company has announced the new feature on the Workspace forum. Last year, the company added a similar feature on the web version of Gmail.

The new feature will help users find relevant emails with more ease by using easy-to-access filters. The new filters will include 'From', 'Sent to', 'Date', and 'Attachment' options. These options can be found under the search bar in Gmail on Android devices. So, users can tap any of the options before or after searching for emails in their inbox, much like its desktop counterpart.

These search filters will immensely help sift through massive amounts of e-mails and get accurate results.

iPhone 13 Pro teardown reveals 3,095mAh battery, other internal specs

Apple introduced the iPhone 13 series earlier this month, but in typical Apple fashion, didn’t give us a deeper look at a larger part of the new specifications of the 13-series devices. For that, enthusiasts will have to wait for teardowns to surface online. Now, the first teardown for the iPhone 13 Pro is here and it showcases a deeper look at the battery capacity and some other specifications.

The teardown video shows that just like Apple suggested, we indeed have a bigger battery inside the iPhone 13 Pro. This is a 3,095mAh unit, compared to the iPhone 12 Pro’s 2,815mAh battery. The new battery is an L-shaped unit produced by China-based Sunwoda Electronic Co.

Chennai startup Agnikul Cosmos to test its systems at ISRO centres

Chennai-based startup Agnikul Cosmos has signed an MoU with the government to access ISRO's facilities and expertise, and undertake tests for its single-piece 3D-printed Semi Cryo engine and other systems. Agnikul will get to avail ISRO's technical expertise for testing and qualifying its space launch vehicle systems. The government inked a similar deal with Hyderabad's Skyroot Aerospace earlier.

Researchers have created a new gene editing tool called Retron Library Recombineering (RLR) that can generate up to millions of mutations simultaneously, and 'barcodes' mutant bacterial cells so that the entire pool can be screened at once. It can be used in contexts where CRISPR is toxic or not feasible, and results in better editing rates.

Bitcoin incentives renewable energy: Twitter CEO

Twitter and Square CEO Jack Dorsey shared a research report conducted by Square and ARK Invest which found that Bitcoin mining could encourage investment in solar energy systems, enabling renewables to generate a higher percentage of grid power. Sharing the research report, Dorsey tweeted, "Bitcoin incentivises renewable energy." Tesla CEO Elon Musk replied to the tweet saying it was true.

Malaysian trio use massages, music to grow ₹15,000 Japanese melons

Three Malaysian farmers say they have discovered the right combination of treatments and nutrients to grow Japanese muskmelons that usually sell for upwards of ₹15,000 ($200). Scientists create whitest-ever paint to reduce need for ACs

Scientists at Purdue University have developed the whitest-ever paint as a way to tackle global warming by reducing the need for air conditioning. The new paint reflects 98% of sunlight as well as radiating infrared heat through the atmosphere into space. In tests, it cooled surfaces by 4.5°C below the ambient temperature, even in strong sunlight.

Nobel laureate Isamu Akasaki, inventor of 1st efficient blue LED, dies at 92

Physicist Isamu Akasaki, a co-winner of the 2014 Nobel Prize in Physics for inventing the world's first efficient blue light-emitting diodes, has died aged 92. He died of pneumonia in Nagoya, Japan, Meijo University said. During the 1980s and 1990s Isamu Akasaki, along with Hiroshi Amano, and Shuji Nakamura used the semiconductor gallium nitride to create efficient blue LEDs.

Alternative for conventional Li-ion batteries made: IIT Hyderabad

IIT Hyderabad researchers have developed a dual carbon alternative to conventional lithium-ion batteries. They have developed a 5V Dual Carbon Battery utilising self-standing carbon fibre mats as both electrodes. The model sets aside the requirement of toxic, costly, and heavy transitional metals lithium-ion batteries require for functioning, the institute said.
