New podcast episode 235 is on YouTube and your podcast app. Pastor Mark Driscoll was recently kicked off stage by Pastor John Lindell when he started his speaking time off at the Stronger Men's Conference, hosted at Lindell's James River Church. Driscoll was upset that there was an acrobat/sword swallower, who turned out to be a former stripper as part of the festivities opening the conference. That's a sentence I never thought I'd put in a podcast description. “The Jezebel spirit opened our event,” Driscoll said, after explaining he was hoarse because he had been up since 1 a.m. praying. “. . . Before the word of God was opened, there was a platform. It was a high place. On it was a pole, an Asherah. The same thing that’s used in a strip club for women, who have the Jezebel spirit to seduce men."
The two seemed to reconcile publically late in the conference, but since then accusations are flying about Mark allegedly undermining the leadership and sowing discord at James River Church. Do men's conferences need all the spectacle? Motorcross, tanks, flamethrowers, etc? Was Driscoll correct in publicly rebuking the conference? How should disagreements between church leaders or Christians in general be handled? Plus Andy is the victim of Jeff's Rapid Fire, Josh Howerton may have plagiarized his apology for a bad joke, & listener feedback.
This is far more than a TMZ-style gossipy reaction episode. So dig in and let us know what you think!

Episode 234 out on YouTube and podcast now! Courtney Lancaster from the Heal/Create Podcast joins us and shares her powerful story, including her time singing worship at Bethel and attending Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry. It seems most either have negative or positive opinions about what Bethel Church is up to. Courtney is more nuanced about her time there. Learn about some of the spiritual baggage she brought into, and out of Bethel, how she learned to heal from trauma, how this has unlocked her ability to create, and how she wants to help others (maybe you?) heal so they can unlock their creative potential. Plus listener feedback, what we’re consuming, & Courtney survives (endures?) a round of Jeff’s Rapid Fire.

We all know some bumper sticker theology sayings. "Let scripture interpret scripture", "God won't give you more than you can handle" and the like. Occasionally these can be helpful. But more often than not they are employed when someone doesn't have an answer to a tough question and it just serves as a conversation killer. Have any other examples? Let us know in the comments. #shorts #podcast #christianity #faith #deconstruction
Why do some Christians become atheists? Zack thinks one reason is that when you've been handed a specific way to view/ interpret the Bible; i.e. that it's inerrant, perfect in all its prescriptions, and given to us by God, only to discover that there are very human imprints all over it when you look closely, that can be earth-shattering to someone's faith. This is from a much broader conversation in episode 239 "Is Church The Cause Of Atheism?" #shorts #bible #faith #deconstruction #christianity
