Breaking News:

The news has been confirmed of the sighting of Shawwal Crescent at Turba, in Kenyase, Kumasi, by Chairman of the National Hilal Committee, Sheikh Yussif Alhassan.

Speaking briefly on the Turba mountain after sighting of the moon, Sheikh Yussfiya said the crescent was seen by some five different individuals, including the team’s technical person manning their telescope.

In a statement from the Grand Mufti's office, the attempt will be made, on Tuesday, 9th April, by the National Hilal Committee, in search of the Shawwal Crescent.

In line with the practice in Ghana, for the past circa 32 years, whether or not the crescent is sighted, EID shall be observed on Thursday, April 11, 2024, the statement says.

Salisu Mohamed scored his first World Cup goal last Monday against South Korea.
