Truth’s Table honors the life, legacy, and excellence of Maestro Richard Smallwood.

Maestro Richard’s gifts were done in honor of our great God and for the edification of the church. His anointing is evident in all of his songs: Total Praise, Trust Me, Anthem of Praise, and Angels just to name of few.

In the words of Dorinda Clark Cole, he was “The Beethoven of Gospel Music.” Indeed he was. We are sad he’s no longer with us in the land of the living, but O’ how we rejoice to know that Maestro Richard is now in the presence of The King of Kings!

“Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his faithful servants.” - Psalm 116:15”

How do you see "Imani" contributing to our fight for justice?

On the final day of Kwanzaa, let us continue to honor these seven principles throughout the year.

The lyrics to this powerful song sung in isiZulu 🇿🇦 are

“Please listen to me too
I know we are many
We cry to you

You who opens closed doors
The Ancient one

Please listen to me even when the situation doesn’t agree
Please listen to me

You who opens closed doors
The Ancient one

Please listen to me even when the situation doesn’t agree
Please listen to me.”

If this is your prayer and declaration for 2026, drop a praise hand 🙌🏾 and type Amen.

Wishing you a joyful Kwanzaa! ❤️ 🖤 💚

“Kwanzaa is an African American and Pan-African holiday which celebrates family, community, and culture. It was created in 1966 by Dr. Maulana Karenga, a professor of Africana Studies. Kwanzaa, a seven-day cultural festival, begins December 26 and ends January 1. It combines communitarian values and practices from continental Africans and African-American cultures.
Join us in honoring the seven principles that light up this special season.

Let’s come together to honor our culture and empower our community.
Drop a ❤️ 🖤 💚 if you’re celebrating this year!

Today’s principle is Umoja (Unity), which means to strive and maintain unity in the family, community, and race.

Please share in the comments: How do you strive for unity within our community?
