Visit Eslite Spectrum before 30th July to catch this Exhibition by our own Malaysian Artist!

As an outstanding Malaysian artist, Lihua uses a unique blend of Chinese calligraphy and Western watercolors to create her masterpieces and is showcased in her second exhibition, Busana Malaysia at Eslite Spectrum, The Starhill from now till 30 July 2023. Going forward, it will merge with Martel exhibition from Europe to show Malaysia's diverse cultural heritage while preserving distinct cultural identities.

This exhibition brings out Lihua's ability to interpret our local artist's impression of fashion and traditional costumes. In essence, the artwork on display addresses popular ideology on three levels - old and new, fashion and function, and beauty and style. Her artwork is inspired by fashion silhouettes by using unconventional brush strokes to create a contemporary twist on tradition.

Her artwork has been commissioned by major international fashion houses. Besides being an artist, she is also a fashion illustrator lecturer at Esmod KL Fashion School.

This exhibition starts in Kuala Lumpur, and then to Penang before embarking to Italy. Busana Malaysia will merge with "Galerie Martel" and launch an affiliated company in Kuala Lumpur, "WM Arte Gallery"

The Bazaar Dinner Buffet at Pullman KLCC's Sedap Restaurant is a must-try for anyone looking for a diverse and delicious dining experience within the city centre. This Ramadhan dinner buffet is a must for those who find it tough to break fast while working plus the expected traffic jams one has to endure if the weather isn't too pleasant. It's during these times you gather with your family and friends at Pullman KLCC for a memorable experience.

It offers a delightful culinary experience with a diverse range of dishes to suit everyone's taste buds, by having a wide selection of traditional Malay and Western dishes that are well prepared and beautifully presented. With up to 28 different segments making up the buffet spread, each featuring at least 5 or more dishes, there is definitely something for everyone. This includes classic favourites like Kerabu and Ayam Percik Pantai Timur, plus signature dishes like Ikan Patin Masak Sambal Tempoyak Api-Api, Kerisik Belimbing Buluh Bersama Ikan Bilis, Kambing Gulai Kawah Kelantan, and Kambing Bakar Sekinchan.

Also, don't miss out on the desserts for which they are very well known for. I've always encouraged patrons to have space for desserts - you will not regret it. 16/04/2023

Mustika Nusantara (The Gems of Archipelago) Ramadhan Buffet Dinner is one buffet you should not miss especially if you're living near Klang or just having an outing for the day from Kuala Lumpur. Situated in Bukit Raja area, Wyndham Acmar Klang Hotel may only be the only Ramadhan buffet around, but it's worthwhile dropping by as its quality and variety will amaze you. This time around, the chefs at Wyndham have added plenty more traditional dishes you may not find elsewhere, and that itself would bring back fond memories.

As one walks around and "survey" the buffet while waiting to buka puasa, you'd be spoilt for choice and don't know where to begin. Should it be the tasty Sup Sumpah Serakah first or the tender roast lamb or possibly, the succulent satay first? Since it's a buffet, it's up to you, and as a suggestion, please leave room to try most of their dishes out. Try out some of the starters and salads. They have kampung-styled salads with a range of different condiments, to western styled goodies like prawn cocktails. They also have cold platter seafood for those of you craving for cold-cooked prawns and fresh oysters.

Now to the main course ...... They have chicken shawarma, ayam bakar tebu danok golek, grilled fish with cream caper sauce, lamb mughalai, squid kam heong, nasi kebuli kambing, ayam goreng serai wangi, gulai itik betik muda, tenggiri salai masak lemak pucuk kaduk, udang sambal petai, siput sedut, daging gulai kawah, pucuk ubi masak lemak udang, kambing bakar and much more. This is just a small part of the buffet that I encourage you to try out.

Finally, for dessert, there is a good mix of local traditional kuihs and western-style desserts like cakes and baklava, as well as a selection of coffee, tea, and other beverages.

Overall, Mustika Nusantara Ramadhan Buffet Dinner at Wyndham Acmar Klang is an excellent choice for anyone looking to experience a delicious and varied buffet during the holy month of Ramadan.

Recently, I was invited to experience a unique restaurant here in Kuala Lumpur. What's normal looking is just the façade of the restaurant, and the dining area. It's an unassuming place to dine when you want to enjoy a great meal away from prying eyes. Other than that, all else is completely different.

You need to pre-book your food in advance by discussing with the chef about your preferences and expectations, and he will design a menu specially for you. Therefore, no walk-ins allowed due to the nature and concept of this eatery. This builds a positive experience even before you step into the establishment. Each plate presented comes with an explanation from the manager about the intricacies, and uniqueness of food placed in front of you. It shows you the creativity and innovation of the chef with his years' of culinary knowledge and experience. Whatever cuisine you decide on, you're rest assured that it's all made inhouse and cooked as you arrive at the restaurant.

True to its name, Le Sense Tasting Menu and Dim Sum, I was treated to sample their Dim Sum menu created by the chef whom I was told was with Shangri-La Hotel in Singapore previously. By the way, this fine dining establishment is located in a mature quiet neighborhood with lush green trees just off the highway, and if you wish to explore your taste buds further, give them a call. Get them to cook you something you may have been looking forward to for a long time, but don't know who could do it well.

As it has a zero corkage policy, don't forget to bring your favorite wine or liquor to accompany your meals.

I enjoyed this experience. I wished there was more to eat, and also the dishes to continue flowing but alas, only 8 dishes. Looking forward to the next dining experience.

Ganesha Chaturthi is a ten day festival celebrating the accension of Ganesha as the Elephant-head God. This year it began on 31st August 2022 and it ended on 9th September 2022.

Ganasha was beheaded by God Shiva in anger before God Shiva resurrected Ganesha with an elephant head and bestowed him as head of Lord Shiva's followers. In short, it's about rebirth and regeneration. God Ganesha is worshipped for luck and prosperity including the removal of obstacles. He is widely revered throughout South Asia region regardless of affiliation.

The festivities at Sri Sakthi Karpaga Vinayagar Temple in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur begin to peak from 6:30pm onwards. Pujas were held throughout the day with breaks in between. Worshipping rituals done by temple elders to pay devotional homage and prayer to God Ganesh, and in exchange, devotees received prasad. A dehusked coconut and a camphor cube alighted is essential during personal prayers. Then, it's smashed signifying that God Ganesha will fulfill their wishes. Why coconuts? It's God Ganesha's favourite food, and breaking the coconuts itself is a form of gratitude to Him for removing ones' hardship.

Meanwhile, God Ganesh is moved onto the chariot waited outside the temple which was brightly lit, adorned with flowers, and a live band with devotees danced in preparation for the procession. It doesnt stop when the chariot arrived back at the temple.

The last part of the festivities were that the temple never lets its devotees or visitors alike go home hungry. There is always food and drinks for all.

When the celebration is over, He goes home to Mount Kailash.

Jaya Ram performance was played to a sold out crowd in each of the 4 nights. This was made possible with Datuk Ramli's foresight and collaboration with his counterparts in India, together with his team at Sutra Foundation. Behind the scene reveals both positive and challenging aspects of piecing this performance together. He touched on the musicians being expensive to be imported into Malaysia from India. Due to unforeseen circumstances, they were only able to be here on location on the day of the premier. Besides this, he delegated responsibilities to his most trusted members of Sutra Foundation. To round off, the participants were given a chance to express their feelings, but one resounding fact is that teamwork and cooperation is a must for success!
