The Social Nomad

The Social Nomad The Social Nomad is an online magazine created to bring collaborative ideas together about culture through food and travel to your doorstep.

It offers insights to recommendations that only locals know things off the beaten path. Their stories, told through the lens of our camera, will invoke memories of bygone eras where food and culture mix and mingle. We encourage you to visit these locations to sample their food first hand, and of course, tell us about it. If you’re stuck in your 9 to 5 job, we certainly hope that you will savor our recipes provided at the end of each write up. As part of a culinary journey, we will also share with you knowledge on simple everyday items that you may find useful. Someone once said, “what you give is what you get”, and is rightly so. This is why we added in a community forum to foster a more wholesome and healthy environment. The best thing about this forum is that it’s free, and all you have to do is sign up. Furthermore, if you like to write or contribute to The Social Nomad, please write to us. We will be glad to collaborate with you. Of course, we are always glad to hear from our readers on opinions and suggestions so that we are able to fine tune the magazine to make it better. Come back often to see what we are up to or you could follow us on our adventures through our newsletter, and our social media networks.

A Culinary Voyage: Exploring the Silk Road at Wyndham Acmar Klang’s 2026 Ramadhan Buffet

If you’re looking for an Iftar experience that transcends the ordinary, you need to clear your calendar for Wyndham Acmar Klang. This year, they are taking us on a legendary journey with their “Santapan Jalur Sutera” (Silk Road Journey) theme, and it is every bit as epic as it sounds.

Imagine a spread featuring over 1,000 varieties of dishes. The concept traces the historic Silk Road, blending flavors from the Malay Archipelago through China, Central Asia, and the Mediterranean.

The Standout Dishes are Kambing Gulai Kawah Raja Berangkat, a rich, aromatic staple that is a must-try for any lamb lover. For those seeking international flair, the Beef Tagine with Minted Lemon Cous Cous and the Mediterranean Shakshuka Style Fish Fillet offer a sophisticated taste of the Middle East and beyond.

Seafood fans are in for a treat with the Baked Meshamal Seafood (infused with cumin and coriander) and the punchy Kam Heong Flower Crab. Also recommended visiting is the X’ian Cuisine station for their signature hand-pulled noodles (Mee Tarik), which brings an authentic taste of the Han Dynasty to your plate.

To ground the meal in tradition, don't miss the Terengganu Coconut Milk Steamed Rice paired with village-style favorites like Ayam Goreng Tumis Pandan Serai Wangi.

Overall, the atmosphere transformed the hotel into a vibrant Ramadhan bazaar with live cooking stations, all while maintaining the comfort of a five-star setting. It’s the perfect spot for family reunions or corporate gatherings.
