Medical adhesive-related skin injuries (MARSIs) affect about 1.5 million patients annually in the United States. Complications include allergic contact dermatitis, skin blistering, skin tears, and surgical-site infections (SSIs). The authors hypothesize that a natural hypoallergenic silk bioprotein wound dressing will decrease the incidence of MARSI in comparison to a synthetic alternative.⁠

Instagram (Menlo Park, CA) has become a popular means of advertisement for aesthetic surgery procedures, influencing patients’ likelihood of undergoing a procedure. In this study, the authors aim to explore public interest in aesthetic procedures before and after the Instagram platform started gaining in popularity through Google Trends (Google, Mountain View, CA), a platform with previously demonstrated utility for tracking interest in surgical procedures.

Objectives
The authors hypothesize that as a result of increased medical marketing on Instagram, there is an increase in public interest in elective procedures of plastic surgery.

Treating facial aging with CO2 lasering or microneedling are cornerstones of facial rejuvenation. Skin rejuvenation utilizing thermal and mechanical treatments have historically been considered too injurious to be combined at a single setting. Autologous nanofat has been shown to deliver wound healing properties. We investigated the safety and efficacy of co-terminus CO2 lasering and microneedling to resolve fine lines and rhytids in facial skin with addition of autologous nanofat to aid in recovery.⁠

Calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA(+); Radiesse(+) [Merz North America, Inc., Raleigh, NC]) is the first FDA-approved injectable filler for subdermal and/or supraperiosteal injection to improve moderate-to-severe loss of jawline contour. CaHA has been recognized in the past for its ability to provide contour and support overlying tissues and utilized for jawline augmentation well before this recent indication; however, with recent FDA approval of CaHA(+) for jawline contour improvement, it is important that clinicians are aware of best practices for patient selection, treatment planning and injection, as well as safety considerations and postprocedure care.⁠
