Happy 2 Months! 🖤 Braelen is officially smiling at mommy, daddy and his brother 😭 Between eating all day and sleeping, he’s wiggling his legs and arms and staring at us down. He loves being warm and for some reason likes to sit up just to fall right asleep. Month 3, I’m not ready for you! 🥹
I’ve been soaking up all the cuddles with my little guy! I’m pretty sure he’s started to intentionally smile at us 😭 Our days are mostly breastfeeding, sleeping, and tummy time on repeat! And did I mention that he needs to be held 24/7? He will have a fully belly, clean diaper, and still proceed to cry when we put him down. Anyone else have a velcro baby?

Celebrating Mother’s Day this year as a mom of TWO! Braelen made his arrival on May 7th weighing 9lbs 5oz and giving our family another blessing. Welcome to the world, baby boy. I thank God for these two beautiful boys that have given me the gift of motherhood 🖤
It’s our birthday month and the clock is ticking! We’ve got less than two weeks to go, but Braelen could make his arrival any day. I’m feeling extra pregnant and very ready to meet my baby boy 🖤
We had an amazing baby shower this weekend! ✨ We truly appreciate our family and friends that came or sent gifts for our second baby boy. He’s already beyond blessed and we couldn’t be more grateful!
I can’t believe we’ve got 7 weeks to go until we meet you baby boy. I’m nervous for this new chapter because it’s been just the 3 of us, and now it’ll be 4.
But I’m so happy you and Kaelen will have each other to love.
I can’t wait to see your dad holding both of you with a proud smile on his face.

28 Weeks 🖤 I’ve officially entered my third trimester! I had my glucose test this morning and I’m a little nervous because I failed it with Kaelen and had to take the long 3 hour test 😫 I get the results tomorrow so y’all pray for me!
Otherwise, I feel like this pregnancy is moving very quickly. Baby B is active and giving me tons of heartburn, so he’ll probably have a full head of hair like his brother. Oh and I can’t eat anything fried because he won’t have it.
I would rather share one lifetime with you than face all the ages of this world alone. Happy Valentine’s Day ❤️
We’re actually happy that it’s Monday, y’all! Last Saturday, Kaelen was admitted to the hospital for wheezing, difficulty breathing and low O2. It was a long 2 nights, but with steroids and multiple breathing treatments, Kaelen’s oxygen was back at 100% 🙌🏽 We did have to continue treatment at home for a week, but we are officially finished!
For my moms, dads, grandparents, etc, I highly recommend getting a pulse oximeter to have at home! I ordered one from Amazon after Kaelen had the flu and I’m so glad I had it. I immediately ran to get it when the wheezing didn’t stop. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have known his oxygen had dropped below 90!
We’re praying this was random and won’t happen again, but just happy our little guy is ok. Kaelen is doing well, was very excited for school and is back to running toys across the house 🤣🖤
10 years ago today, we had an awkward “Are we boyfriend/girlfriend?” moment and then went to get frozen yogurt.
5 years ago today, we said “I do” and became The Barbs.
Today, I thank my husband for his patience and kindness everyday. And I thank God for making sure we crossed paths. To my best friend and my favorite person, Happy Anniversary 🖤
Thankful for 2023 and fully welcoming all the love, happiness and blessings into 2024. 2023 wasn’t without it’s difficult moments, but I always found myself thanking God for where I was and was reminded of the beauty and blessings.
✨ We settled more into our home and I found joy in decorating and organizing.
✨ Spent time with family and took small road trips including Waco to show Kaelen where his parents met.
✨ Joe and I went to Vegas on a whim for the first time and spent quality time together.
✨ Kaelen continued to show strength and growth as he excelled in therapy and did amazing with serial casting.
✨ Kaelen also started his second year of Pre-K, but for a full day!
✨ We found out our family was growing and we will be having another beautiful baby boy 🥹
Happy New Year and I pray 2024 provides everything you’ve been praying for 🖤

My little guy is growing in so many ways! He’s definitely getting taller. He’s starting to slowly get comfortable in therapy. Instead of sitting on my lap, he’ll stand in between my legs to stare at people or just observe. He’s wearing his glasses longer. And he’s showing his belly off to everyone 😂 From skin to skin and constant cuddles to asking if mommy can have a hug. I’m sad, but also so proud of his growth and progress 🖤

Gratefulness. Goals. Plans. For me, these things have to coexist. I try to always be grateful for what I have and where I am. I write down my big and small goals and plan the actions I’ll take to get there. And with each step I take, I remain grateful! If not, I’d be so focused on where I wasn’t and I’d be constantly disturbing my peace. So today, as I’m thinking about next week’s transition into April, I remain grateful for my family, my job, opportunities coming my way and God 🖤

Happy Saturday 🤎 The last two weeks have been so busy! Work has been a roller coaster and Kaelen’s outpatient therapies officially started so I’ve been trying to readjust to our new schedules. Last night was pizza and movie night and it was just what I needed. Today, I’m gonna do a little editing and try my best to do nothing 😂

If you knew me in college, you know my curls have come a LONG way! My husband knows and always makes fun of me lol. I had a history of straightening my hair a lot and literally had no curls anymore. I realized I was giving my hair everything it didn’t need - sulfates, silicones, heat, no trims, etc. Now, I consistently make sure to give my curls all the love and I owe credit for my curly progress to so many products, YouTube videos, hair stylists, and time. This pregnancy and postpartum has been much harder this time. Some days and especially nights have been HARD with feeling like I’ll never sleep again, like my body is working against me, and questioning why I did this. But reminding myself that these difficult moments are temporary and taking it day by day have been crucial. After 6 weeks, my body is healing, I’m feeling a tad more rested, and I’m learning to navigate each day as a mom of 2 a little better than the day before. Unbox baby’s bassinet with me!🤰🏽Kaelen lived in his bassinet as a baby, so I knew it was a necessity this time around. We were blessed with this bassinet from our registry and I was so excited to put it together. Merry Christmas Eve! I made our Christmas door wreath this year and am super proud of it! I found a beautiful wreath online at Macy’s, but didn’t care for the price for it to be outside. I already had this $12 flocked wreath from Walmart last year and just needed ornaments and florals. With a little hot glue, it came out better than I hoped!
I’m posting this now, but our tree has been up for 2 weeks 😂 I’ve finally been getting some of my energy back and was ready! I used our ornaments from last year, but gonna make some stops this weekend to add more. What do y’all think about flowers and adding gold?
Since Kaelen started school, I’ve been going into the office for 1 day a week. It’s been about a month now and I absolutely did not miss having to drive or getting up to actually get dressed lol. I still make sure to pack Kaelen’s lunch in the morning, so packing my bag the night before helps to to run out the door on time. I found this bag on, yes, Amazon 🤣 and I like it so far! It’s pretty spacious and has lots of little spaces and comes with a detachable clutch bag and a external USB port!
Organizing our junk drawer! We originally moved the junk drawer to a smaller drawer to help reduce the mess, but it still ended up getting full! I only added things we typically reach for and it’s been pretty easy keeping it organized. We’ve since only added a second par of scissors and a small roll of tape! Who else’s junk drawer needs some love?
Prepping for my toddler’s birthday party! Kaelen’s birthday was earlier this week, but we are celebrating tomorrow! I’ve been getting things ready all week and will be up tonight working on his balloon arch and backdrop setup. I pretty much always try to DIY his birthday stuff and will share the final decor in my stories tomorrow!
I love flowers and surprisingly never have vases for them! I usually use mason jars, but wanted something more glam and found these stunning modern vases from @zgallerie ✨ The Solaris Vase comes in a small and large size and they are pretty affordable compared to their Ellipse Vase which is on my non-immediate wishlist lol.
