Just a back story, I used to work in the fashion and garments industry right after I graduated from the university. My first formal job was as a design specialist for a women's wear brand based in the Philippines. I was assigned to make and develop clothing designs for women whose body shapes are categorized as inverted triangle and rectangle. I can relate of course because I am an inverted triangle myself - I have broad shoulders and tiny hips....

Course refresher for Using HTML and CSS in Web Design.
Thank you to Department of Information and Communications Technology - DICT for the LMS access.
This brings back memories, when I used to manage the backend of our online shop back in 2013-2014, it was my very first experience in managing a website. That was in Magento and Wordpress - not sure if anyone still uses Magento these days. ๐
I can still do basic editing and updating in Wordpress websites, though. BUT... now I am actually thinking if I should pursue a more in-depth course in web designing? ๐ค
Designing is obviously something that I love doing- from creating graphics for social media, marketing materials, online journals, to designing clothes and home decors. Plus, the ideation part excites me as well!

Let's talk about Social Media Page "INSIGHTS" This is a screenshot from one of the Instagram accounts that I manage. Notice that it has only 370+ followers but it's reaching way more audience! ๐ฅฐ HERE ARE SOME TRIED AND TESTED TIPS for those who are struggling with their pages: 1 - Engage with your target audiences. That is why it's called "SOCIAL" media in the first place! You have to "socialize" and network. Sorry to say, but you really have to put an effort in this department - unless you are a famous celebrity. ๐ 2 - SHOW UP! This is related to tip no.1. Setting a regular schedule to post is important too, although you don't have to stress yourself on posting every single day. For starters, you can do it twice a week - and just increase the number when you're in the flow already. Bank on content and posts so, even on days when you feel like creative juices are dry. You still have something valuable to share to your target audience. Showing up also means liking other people's post. Leaving valuable comments. Set a specific time each day - max. 15 minutes is enough to begin with. NOTE TO SELF: The more you show up, the more they'd notice you and get to know you. 3 - Maximize and use the latest features that your chosen social media platform is offering - In Instagram's case, one good example is posting via REELS. ๐ Make it short, sweet and relevant to your audience. So, they'd keep coming back for more! Use trending topics, effects and background music in your post - BUT make sure to keep it on brand! ๐ You don't want to confuse your audience, right? This might sound like a lot info for beginners so, that's it for now! Hope you find these tips useful. In case you still need some help or guidance - feel free to send me a DM. ๐ P.S. Naabutan ko pa na Odesk ang Upwork. Learned about online jobs from a blog na hindi ko na matandaan kung kaninong blog 'yun. Pero salamat! ๐ BECAUSE.... SINCE THEN, NEVER na ako nag-look back sa full-time, office job. โGoodbye time-in / time-out! ๐ โGoodbye Metro Manila pollution & traffic! ๐ โGoodbye office dramas! ๐ก I'm an introvert by the way, pero kapag naka-warm up naman na at feeling ko oks tayo - then, that's good! PARTY! PARTY NA! ๐๐พ So, hindi rin naging issue saken ang sinasabi nila na online job equates to less social life! ๐คทโโ๏ธ After a year in marriage nag-ka-anak na, kaya nawalan na talaga ako ng interes bumalik sa pag-o-opisina. Anyway, first gig ko sa Upwork $1/ hour lang yata noon. Gusto ko lang kasi talaga ma-try! ๐๐ Then, yung next client na-scam pa ako. Hahaha! Pero, yung mga sumunod naman na... naging okay na. Nag-increase na din ang value ng Nanay niyo. MOST IMPORTANTLY, iba yung feeling na na-a-appreciate ng clients ang work mo. Hindi mo ramdam na may boss ka. Although direct na kausap mo may-ari ng company, mga aspiring entrepreneurs... O, di ba winner! ๐๐๐ Sa mga nakaka-trabaho mo din kasi ikaw makakahugot ng inspirasyon. Super dami ding learnings at realizations along the way. May mga bagay na magugulat ka, dahil kaya mo pala! KAYA KO PALA! ๐ฅฐ Kaya mong matuto ng mga hindi mo maiisip
