DJ Storm

DJ Storm Passionate music lover I was first introduced to the world of DJ’ing through my brother.

During the summer of my senior year, he was a part-time DJ for military clubs and beach resorts in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. He got so busy that he asked me to help him out by covering a few gigs, and I was immediately hooked. At first, I was so excited by the thought of playing music and getting paid for it that I didn’t consider turning DJ’ing into a serious career. But throughout that summer,

my mom kept asking me to reach out to my cousin who she described as a famous DJ in New York. I figured she was just talking and didn’t take it seriously, so I was absolutely floored when she told me that DJ Clue was my cousin! I eventually reached out to DJ Clue, and he’s been helping me ever since then. With his help and guidance, I developed the skills that I needed to transform my side hustle as a DJ into a full-time career. He allowed me to open up for him at shows, which helped me learn how to read a crowd. He also helped me develop a true understanding for how important it is to practice the craft and know your music inside and out. While studying under DJ Clue, I went off to Prairie University to study kinesiology, and I would DJ parties during breaks. I realized that DJ’ing was my true calling, so I quit school to focus on furthering my career. I worked at the post office as I tried to get my DJ career off the ground. I spent every off day and every free moment honing my craft and working on my mixtape. My first Drank Epidemic came out in 2006, and it was more successful than I ever imagined it could be! I quit my job at the post office the week after the mixtape was released, and I’ve been a full-time DJ ever since. Each Drank Epidemic mixtape was bigger than the last, and I worked with incredible artists like Paul Wall, Young Buck, Lil Wayne, Ludacris, 2 Chainz, and countless others. Drank Epidemic eventually evolved into a radio show where I interviewed both legendary artists and up-and-coming artists, and Drank Epidemic Radio later evolved into Clue Radio. These days, I release mixtapes, make beats, and help break singles for artists like Kirko Bangz & Chedda Da Connect, in addition to traveling all over the United States while performing at clubs and celebrity parties.

So if you a Rapper, DJ etc. should you stop doing these things after 40? But why is it that country, Rock music and every other genre is allowed to continue doing their craft after their 40 I had a YOUNGER DJ tell me one time I wish all these older DJs get out the way so we younger DJs can eat, and when I heard him say it to me, it sounded so fu***ng ridiculous. I didn’t say anything back to him but it’s like why are y’all so intimidated by what other people are doing focus on your life there’s enough money for everybody out here why would I take the time to be worried about what another individuals doing to put a label on them to stop them from making money ?? the stupidest s**t EVER!! Stop getting in your own way! Do what needs to be done to reach your goals. Build your own dreams, or someone else will hire you to build theirs.
