the way i've been so busy is wild, so tonight i'm taking it easy and checking out UNDER PARIS on netflix. then back to my Tribeca fest duties with nigerian family thriller THE WEEKEND & psychedelic horror time trip SHE LOVED BLOSSOMS MORE before the weekend is up 😮‍💨

memorial day weekend executed with deadly accuracy at ZOMBIEFEST X! 🧟🍿🎥

first time visiting The Mahoning Drive-In Theater and man, this place is the real deal. the gem has been screening cult cinema & classics since 1949! about 2.5 hours from NYC is so freakin’ worth it, especially with an extended pass to spend the night on the lot (come on, camping!!) y’all know my road dawg Aaimz Tako is always to my right on an adventure 🫡

our hearts goes out to the mahoning family & their long time supporters after the loss of the drive-ins master projectionist jeff mattox. his leadership must have been as inspiring as the community says- even in his absence the mahoning is thriving. consider supporting! we’ll be back 📽️

today is my last day in salem & i’m nowhere near done exploring 👻

it took me too long to visit Blackcraft and their cute lil coffee spot hiding in their shop. the dark lord knew i needed that caffeine to get me through 😮‍💨

to close it all out, at noon today my crew & i will be screening TALES FROM THE CRYPT: DEMON KNIGHT at the Peabody Essex Museum followed by a live podcast recording on BLACK FINAL FOLKS. let’s get it! ✊🏽

holy f**k, guys… INFESTED had me shaking out my pant legs at 2 in the morning! this new French joint is easily making my top 12 of 2024 no doubt about it

i pressed play expecting to stay heavy on the cheesy/camp element (it’s a movie about spiders, after all) but was met with a seriously intense tragedy rooted in reality with great characters that are easy to love and relate to

if you can do spiders, you MUST watch this. streaming now on Shudder

LOOK AT MY HAUL. IT'S GORGEOUS. i haven't gotten this lucky in centuries. it's hard to find a good selection like this for reasonable prices down in NYC. big shout to The Archive and their awesome staff. real friendly guys who know their s**t. super helpful too 🙏🏽

WHEN THERE’S NO MORE ROOM IN HELL...🧟

celebrating DAWN OF THE DEAD's 45th anniversary looks like tossing my crew in the back seat & driving up north a few hours to a charming lil theater called the strand to marathon the original romero zombie trio BACK TO BACK (i wasn't taking no for an answer)

NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, followed by DAWN OF THE DEAD, followed by DAY OF THE DEAD... y'all, that was NOT easy. only the truest horror fans are willing and ready to sit through an 8 hour shift running on straight popcorn & gore. i feel great about it, but my tailbone just called me a fu**ing ma*****st 🥲

CT Cult Classics has an amazing thing going on. met some of the CT horror community & they put us on to what's hip north of NYC. we will 100% be back for more

now, let's get messy. shoot me your ranking. DAWN OTD is my personal favorite, then NIGHT OTLD, leaving DAY OTD as my least favorite... it's a real fun joint, but i have some serious thoughts that i've never had before seeing it on a big screen. argue with me if you want. might bite you tho 👀

have you heard that chucky is dying? what the hell is that about?!

i had to ask DON MANCINI (creator/chucky's dad) about how we got here, and the answer is a suprisingly relatable one. our beloved mini serial killer has seen some company lately, like M3GAN, ANNABELLE & even that CHILD'S PLAY reboot from 2019. for mancini, that means having to face the reality of potential decreasing influence. on the show, mr. charles lee ray has a similar pill to swallow as he faces the end of his days
