Verte Magazine is Princeton's first sustainable fashion and lifestyle magazine. The Magazine aims to combine substance with beautiful spreads that showcase the compelling aesthetics of sust
ainable design. An entirely student-run, non-profit enterprise, Verte finds and shares inspiring fashion stories thereby encouraging a sustainable lifestyle through fashion. Articles demonstrate practical sustainable fashion, with an emphasis on ‘Do-It-Yourself’ ideas, shopping guides and photo-shoots that resonate with college-aged students. Verte highlights the sophistication and versatility of sustainable fashion. Through its reporting, photography and design, Verte captures the vanguard of sustainable fashion, both in Princeton and the surrounding community. Verte’s first issue, published online in April, featured many student models and local consignment and sustainable fashion stores. The Magazine supports and connects burgeoning student artists and sustainability advocates with icons from around the world. The first issue of Verte featured sustainable fashion icon Summer Rayne Oakes of Source4Style. After seeing the first issue, many other people working at the cutting edge in the industry have expressed an interest in working with the Magazine in the future. Coming issues will feature a letter to the readers from Lauren Bush, founder of FEED projects and interviews with high- profile designers, such as Gretchen Jones, winner of cycle 8 Project Runway. Future partnerships will connect Princeton’s community to other leaders in the industry, including Livia Firth, Tabii Just, Patagonia, Origins, among others.
