Saratoga, NY - May 31st @ 2:30 PM – A massive fire erupted at the historic Victory Mills on Gates Ave. in Saratoga County.

Columns of black smoke stretched over 5 miles as flames tore through the 5-story mill and nearby buildings. First arriving chiefs immediately struck 2nd and 3rd alarms, summoning departments from across the region.

Despite heavy rain, heat radiated 200 feet from the inferno. Firefighters launched a full-scale attack—drafting water from Fish Creek, deploying ladders, blitz lines, and battling collapsing walls and exploding debris. Overgrowth hampered access, but crews cut their way through.

More than 100 firefighters fought for 16+ hours. Two teens were later arrested for arson and trespassing. No injuries reported. The community responded with incredible support—food, drinks, shelter—fueling the fight against one of the most intense fires in local memory. 💪🚒🔥

Kinderhook, NY — May 6 @ 5:48 PM: A massive fire erupted on Route 9H. Two heroes kicked in a smoke-filled door and saved a dog as flames tore through the building.

As black smoke towered for miles, Kinderhook Fire and Task Force raced to the scene. Flames consumed the structure, with a live power line down in front. Mutual aid rushed in from Ghent, Tri-Village, South Schodack, Stuyvesant, and Stuyvesant Falls.

Crews launched hand lines and battled searing heat as fire tore through the garage and adjacent building. Exploding aerosol cans and flammable tanks intensified the danger. A portion of the structure collapsed, trapping fire beneath debris.

Valatie’s ladder truck unleashed a master stream as firefighters attacked from all sides. With power secured and an excavator tearing into the wreckage, crews fought into the night. No injuries were reported. The cause remains under investigation.
