Basiru Undertakes 'Victory' Walk

Senator Ajibola Basiru led his party supporters on a 'victory walk' of 9 kilometers through the major streets of Osogbo earlier today as electorates thronged the road sides dancing, waving and cheering him on.

The orderly and peaceful walk which started as early as 8am lasted about 4 hours with the crowd swelling as the walk progressed.

Flag bearing marshals led the movement as colours of different kinds of face cap added spectacles to the sea of heads in march. Senator Basiru acknowledged cheers all the way.

Campaign visits to the major markets in Osogbo followed afterwards, taking the team to Akindeko market in Alekuwodo, Ajegunle spare parts market, Olúgbèjà market, Oja oba, Adenle market, goats and rams sellers market and Idi seke market,.

He also visited motorcyclists at Ahmadiýyah, Licenced Electrical Contractors Association of Nigeria, Ile onimajesin at Obate, Osunlepo community, Bàrúwá and Jaleyemi communities. He also campaigned at some street junctions in an unprecedented engagement that shook the whole town.

The electorates who appreciated him also pledged to vote for him as well as Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and others contesting on the platform of APC.

As the election draws nearer, Senator Ajibola Basiru intensified on his campaign exercise in the Olorunda local government area touching on critical areas that will separate "the men from the boys" in the Saturday election and moving from one street corner to another as well as every hideouts,

Senator Basiru who was joined by the party leaders and members in the local government visited the 127 Baale baale of Owo ope, the Imams and Alfas of Arikalamu, Orita -Elelede, Irepodun and Irewolede communities of Oke onitea; Ayekale community and Ajisebiyawo community, reiterated that he represenrted the people of the Osun central senatorial district qualitatively through his active participation in the enactment of all important laws that were passed in the Senate such as the Petroleum Industry Bill, Electoral Ammendment Law, Companies and Alied Matters Act (CAMA) and many others.

He did not fail to remind electorates that his bill on the establishment of a Federal Medical Centre in Osogbo has been passed by the Senate.

Senator Basiru who said that he is the senate spokesman also said he had provided over 1,000 of solar lights, over 60 boreholes, rehabilitated some roads, construction of schools' buildings for 12 schools and empowered women, youth, farmers and artisans.

Patricia Etteh Drums Up Support for Basiru.

Former Speaker of the House of Representative, Right Hon. Patricia Olubunmi Etteh earlier in day joined forces with Senator Ajibola Basiru to campaign for his re-election to the Senate.

In the continuation of his campaign tour to Olorunda local government where he was received by jubilant and joyful party supporters and electorates, the former speaker said, she stayed 12 years in the House of Representative leading to her election as Speaker of the House adding that it is desirable to re-elect Senator Basiru so that he could attract better dividends for the people of his constituency.

Governor Oyetola Steps Out to Campaign with Senator Basiru.

Senator Ajibola Basiru continued his campaign tour in Boripe local government area of the state as he visited Òdébùdó, kajola elesun, Idi ògùdù, Egbeda iragbiji, Ayekale, Olorunda Temidire and Oore where he was welcomed with joy and gladness.

Senator Basiru who was joined by Governor Gboyega Oyetola thanked the people for their supports and votes during the last election and also implored them to vote more massively in the February 25th election for APC candidates.

He noted that apart from giving qualitative representation to the people of Osun central senatorial district, he also provided over 1,000 solar lights, over 60 boreholes, built 12 schools' building and rehabilitated some roads and also empowered women, youth, farmers and artisans.

Senator Ajibola Basiru had thanked traditional rulers in the Osun Central Senatorial District for their valuable pieces of advice to him as their representative, adding that he appreciated them.

Speaking at the palace of Alagba of Agba, Oba Rufus Ogunwole, Senator Basiru said
earlier in the day that many monarchs have been of immense value to him in person and have contributed immensely to the development that his constituency has witnessed since they elected him as Senator.

He then tasked them not to relent in playing their fatherly role to him and all elected representatives of the people.

Senator Basiru who also visited the Olona of Ada Oba Oyetunde Olumuyiwa Ojo and the Olororuwo Oba Qamardeen Adeyemi Bello thanked them for their love and support for the past three and half years, asking them to do more.

The monarch in their responses affirmed the quality representation of Senator Basiru and the provision of basic amenities to their different communities by him. The monarchs prayed for his victory and that of all other candidates of the All progressives congress APC in the forthcoming elections.

Barely nine days to the February 25th General Elections, campaigns have squared up to the high gear as the APC deployed all arsenals into the campaign on the road to coasting home to victory

Senator Ajibola Basiru's team which had started campaigns since last December visiting all the nooks and crannies of the Osun Central Senatorial District was earlier in the day joined by Her Excellency, Alhaja Kafayat Olaitan Oyetola who had implored all to vote more overwhelmingly for the candidates of APC this time around.

Speaking in his Palace, the Aragbiji of Iragbiji Oba Abdulrasheed Olabunmi attested to the good and quality representation of Senator Ajibola Basiru in the last three and half years, saying he has performed beyond expectation and will get another chance.

Oba Olabunmi who affirmed that all the developmental projects embarked upon by senator Basiru were excellent said he can confidently confirm that his projects touched every towns and communities in the Osun Central Senatorial District.

The Oba therefore prayed for his victory, the victory of Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, Chief Adekunle Oluawo and Hon.Femi Popoola for the Senatorial seat, the Presidency, House of Representatives and House of Assembly respectively.

Be Resilient, Basiru Urges Electorates

Senator Ajibola Basiru has urged electorates not to be discouraged by the scarcity of naira notes and fuel ravaging the nation at this time, even as they turned out in their large numbers to welcome him to Boripe local government area.

Senator Basiru said this when he met with various associations and groups which include artisans, traders, motorists, motorcyclists, the household of the Olomoobas, Chiefs, fulani community, elders, stakeholders, members of ward 9,10 &11 as well as members of the All progressives congress (APC) in Iree township of Boripe local government area.

He noted that the scarcity of naira notes and fuel was to frustrate the populace. He therefore implored them to bear the hardship and must not result to riot so that the election could hold successfully.

Senator Basiru noted that all the candidates of the party are capable and competent of liberating the people from the current hardship, adding that the presidential candidate of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will replicate the developmental changes he did in Lagos nationwide if elected to power.

We are the best for the jobs, says Senator Basiru.

Senator Ajibola Basiru took his campaign to the suburbs of the Orolu local government area today, visiting every community and farm steads after he had spent days rummaging the township, canvassing in all palaces, chiefdoms and artisans associations offices.

Some of the places he visited are Egan Aaje, Owode, Okiti, Oloso, Gaa Fulani, Idi iroko,Wale, Abeebi, Ológèlé, Molufon, Bolorunduro and Ikimo villages. The joy of the people in these places knew no bounds because as they affirmed "we rarely see campaign trains coming to us here."

Senator Basiru who emphasised the importance of democracy said it leaves no one behind adding that everyone is important because it is one man, one vote.

His message as he criss-crossed the difficult terrains was that the team being paraded by the APC are simply the best for the job in terms of ability, capability, track record, experience, education and all.

Senator Basiru said the presidential candidate of APC has demonstrated his competence by turning the fortunes of Lagos around to a modern city that it is today.

Talking about himself, he says, "it is not vain glory or pride to say that I have performed satisfactorily as Senator both on the floor of the Senate and outside of it in terms of attracting to my constituency dividends of democracy."

He however tasked his traducers to point to what they have done for the people when they represented them adding that one for one in comparison to the team that APC parades for the election, the opposition are inferior. "We are simply the best for the jobs," he said.

Dr. Basiru gave the assurance that Hon. Abosede Ogooluwa will perform creditably as a member of the House of Representatives judging from her past experiences adding that Hon. Nasir Olateju being a second timer will attract better dividends to the populace. Senator Ajibola Basiru has urged the people of Orolu local government to vote massively for all the candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in order to put a stop to the economic crisis rocking the nation.

He said this as he visited the Nigerian automobile and technician association at Obalende, Osogbo and various other wards and groups in Ifon, Òròlú local government.

Senator Basiru said only Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is endowed with the requisite knowledge to turn around a comatose economy as we have presently adding that he did it in Lagos and could replicate it nationwide.

At his meeting with the association of Non indigene (Igbo, Hausa and Igala tribes), the Seriki of the Hausa community, Leaders and members of Ward 1 to 10, Senator Basiru opined that the election is about development and progress of the Yoruba nation and the country at large.

He said all and sundry, therefore, must take the election seriously and vote enmass for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu adding that the election to the National Assembly also carries the same weight so as to ensure that people of like minds work with Asiwaju Tinubu as Preident.

Pointing to the antagonists posture of the National Assembly to the first term of Buhari regime, Senator Basiru said Progressives must dominate the national assembly so that policies that will impact the people positively will sail through the assembly.

Why the cost of bread is high by Ajibola Basiru

Senator Ajibola Basiru has traced the high cost of food and especially bread to occurrences all over the word, nailing it down to the effects of COVID-19 and the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.

He said the effects of Covid were devastating worldwide because it forced down the production of agricultural products, including wheat.

Speaking to the Bakers Association about their complaints of high costs of wheat, Dr Ajibola said neither the APC nor President Mohammadu Buhari is culpable for the high costs of bread adding that there is a blockade of supply of wheat from Ukraine, a major source of wheat supply worldwide, due to the raging war going on in the country.

He, however, urged Nigerians to begin to think of stepping up the production of wheat to douse the scarcity and escalated costs of the commodity.

He also visited several other associations asking for their votes; they are the Nigerian Automobile and Technician Association (NATA), Master Bakers Association, the National Union of Tailors (NUT), Association of Patent and Propritary Medicine Dealers (NAPPMED), Music Advertisement Association of Nigeria (MAAN), Butchers Association and Beer Sellers Association, all within the Irepodun local government area.

Senator Ajibola Basiru urged the members of each of the associations to vote massively for all the candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in other to put a stop to the economic crisis in the country.

Senator Basiru told the members of each of the associations that he had facilitated the building of blocks of classrooms in 12 schools across the senatorial district with two blocks consisting of 9 classrooms in Ikirun township alone.

He also debunked the thinking that politicians are not always available after elections saying the he is accessible and available to all. "My offices in Osogbo and in each of the local government areas are available to everyone," He emphasised.

He noted that all the candidates of the party are capable and competent with track record of excellence, urging them to vote for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the president because of his track record of economic development of Lagos State when he was the governor. BASIRU CAMPAIGN: STILL AT IKIRUN

Elder statesman and prominent member of the defunct Social Democratic Party (SDP), Barrister Oladosu Oladipo today joined Senator Ajibola Basiru on his third day of intensive campaign in Ikirun, Ifelodun local government area.

The former gubernatorial aspirant in the third Republic said he was forced to come out to campaign because of the quality of Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu and Dr. Ajibola Basiru who are contesting as president and senator, respectively.

Barrister Oladipo, an indigene of Ikirun who presented the Senator to the people at all meetings, called on the people to vote for quality, versatility, and experience.

"These are the kinds of people who are endowed with knowledge and will be able to work with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu when elected into power by the grace of God on February, 25, this year", he charged the people.

Presenting the candidate for the House of Representatives, Chief Moshood Adekunle Oluawo, he called on the people to rise above local ikirun politics and vote for him because he no doubt will perform well.

Senator Basiru campaigned to different associations cutting through different strata of the society which include the "Amunidara group, Association of Medical Practitioners and Proprietors, market women, furniture makers, hair dressers, barbers, Arewa community, students' groups and the League of Imams.

A major spectacle of the of the campaign was the inspection of two blocs of 9 classrooms built at Eweta primary school in ikirun through the intervention of Senator Basiru.

During his campaign with the Arewa community and the barbers association, Senator Basiru promised the Installation of solar lights for their association houses within 24 hours.

All the associations and groups that the Senator met promised their support for him adding that that he had earned their votes by what he has done so far. They also promised to campaign for him in all higher Institutions in the central senatorial district.
