Have you used digital wallets?

They have become extremely convenient way to pay for bills and expenses for many of us.

But what about digital wallet agents?

In Bangladesh, there's a unique system where digital wallet companies employ a network of agents who act as human ATMs to withdraw or deposit cash through their wallets.

Now the country is working to give them banking status as well. What is this system and what does this change mean for the economy?

Have you had food?

Basically food that is made from genetically modified crops or oil? It is more common than you know it.

Most of the countries like Canada, the US, Brazil which are food baskets of the world as well grow GM crops. From potatoes to corn to edible oils - they grow and export GM food. In some countries GM food is labelled, in some its not.

India which is one of the world's largest importer of edible oils doesn't label if the imported oil is from GM source or not. But studies show a large part of this imported oil is made from genetically modified sources. So to cut the import bill and boost domestic productivity, the Indian government is now initiating GM mustard oil production.

I spoke with the man behind the invention of GM mustard hybrids- Prof Deepak Pental on this edition of Business Daily for BBC News

India has allowed GM cotton - Bt Cotton to be grown in the country. I speak with farmers in UP and Maharashtra about their views about this development. So far, GM mustard is the first food crop to be approved officially for cultivation by the GEAC.

But the case is now in court as many activists have challenged this decision.
Food activist Kavitha Kurungathi and scientist Bhagirath Choudhary talk about the pros and cons of GM mustard in India.

Could growing genetically modified mustard be the answer to oil shortages in India?

How many are we?

8 billion and plus!

That's from the last count of the . And what does it mean to be part of the crowd? The answer depends on where you live.

Coming from India which is soon going to be the world's most populous country overtaking China in a few weeks...for me it means- CROWD!

In Japan, where the birth rate fell below 800,000 last year- making it one of the fastest ageing country in the world- for many it means- SPACE!

And in between these two extremes are other countries trying to figure out the right balance for their people.

And that's we had a special series on global population this week on on the BBC!

While some would argue many of these are schemes, others claim its wastage of money!
