Monday nights from 7-9 on 97.9 The Buzz.
On tonight's show, we'll be wrapping up our series of shows exploring the Classical Elements by focusing on Water. Water is commonly associated with the qualities of emotion and intuition. Water covers about 71% of the Earth's surface, with seas and oceans making up most of the water volume on earth (about 96.5%). And, most of the human body is water, with an average of roughly 60%. The amount of water in the body changes slightly with age, s*x, and hydration levels.
Not surprisingly, since water is such an important part of our life and survival, it shows up regularly in songs and songwriters use water as a metaphor, a story element or just a way to connect with sensations we've all experienced. Tonight's show is titled "Classical Elements: Water" and I'll be playing songs where water makes an appearance in some form or fashion. Back in September of 2020, we kicked off our series "Classical Elements" with the goal of creating Mix Tapes for each of the four classic elements according to the ancient Greeks. That first show examined "Earth", the second show focused on "Fire", the third show was "Air/Wind" and tonight we'll try to tackle "Water".
Tonight, I'll be featuring songs from Bob Wills, Aretha Franklin, Tom Rush, Styx, CSN, Gerry Rafferty, Bonnie Raitt, Elton John, SRV, Free, Jeff Beck and and many, many more.
So, tune your radio to 97.9FM The Buzz at 7:00pm tonight and join me as we explore the Classical Element: Water and it's effect on classic rock & roll. So, turn on Mix Tapes With Paul Tarver and invite your neighbors to join in too!
And don't forget, Rock & Roll should be shared, so turn it up!
