ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: DAVE WHEELER

🕵️ How did you first become involved with the MCBA/MNCBA, and how long have you been attending MCBA/MNCBA events as either an attendee or an exhibitor?

DAVE: I've been attending since the old Thunderbird shows as a child, I think my first of the shows I was 7 or 8. I started exhibiting as a creator in 2009 once I moved back from college to Minnesota.

🕵️ What has the MCBA/MNCBA meant to your career as a comic book creator?

DAVE: It gave me an amazing opportunity. I've been lucky to make lifelong friends, fans and gotten to know so many peers in the comics world through the shows. I've met my heroes and in many cases even become friends or even wilder, collaborators with some.

🕵️ What is your favourite memory of/at an MCBA/MNCBA event?

DAVE: I'll never forget folks coming up cosplaying as my characters or the kids coming back as teens or even young adults saying that one of my books was their first or inspired them to pursue their passions. To make an impact like that is something I will always be grateful for the opportunities presented by the MCBA.

Hey folks, I try hard not to pester about subscribing and such to my channels but I had an idea the other day. The realization hit me that if I can grow the channel I can also grow the scope of awesome stuff I can do to help, not only in the collecting community but also the growth could do wonders for my charity work with ! Hey All, one of my friends Andy Nowicki and his family are struggling with something no parent should have to and the exact reason why we raise funds for Gillette's every year through Extra-Life.

Their son Kayden has been hospitalized and after a week, there's still no diagnosis and the doctors still haven't zeroed in on what is making Kayden ill. Please donate if you're able and share to your networks. They've been encouraging him and others to “Keep Being Brave” for their little man.

Microcon II is HERE! We will be at The Mermaid, 2200 Mounds View Blvd., Mounds View, MN 22112. Microcon II will take place in the Atlantis Ballroom again from 10am till 5pm. We have a great line up for this show. Please check out https://www.midwestcomicbookfans.com for the guest and dealer line up.

Admission $5 at the door. Kids 9 and under free! We will be accepting cash and card. Please be aware there is no ATM in the Atlantis Ballroom. There is one up stairs in The Mermaid Bar, but only available during regular business hours. Please plan ahead accordingly.
