Educating children at home is something many Muslim families are opting for these days. But it’s a daunting task and one loaded with questions and unknowns.
As Muslims, we know what an Ammanah our children are and we are constantly searching for the best way to ensure they get a holistic education that balances their tarbiyah with their academic progression - as well as helping them thrive and maintain their identity in a western society.
Home Education is one route that families may take to create a different learning experience for their children, but as many who already follow this path will tell you, it’s a complete way of life not just something you ‘do’ for school.
If you would like to learn more about my journey home educating my 3 daughters (aged 6, 8 and 10) both in London and Rural Wales - then join me for the Meet & Munch session in Sparkbrook Islamic Centre, Birmingham this Thursday at 12.30pm with
I will share my personal insights into curating an personalised learning environment and we can reflect together on the challenges of raising our Muslim children in the education system and how we can best support them.
Please note: you don’t have to be home educating to benefit from this session - we hope there will be many gems and things to consider no matter where your children learn.
