Another in the books! I’ve lost count of how many of these I’ve done. But, every year the experience changes in the best ways. It was great to run into so many friends and fans, see the great presentations in Hall H, eat a California burrito and hang with my homies. Can’t wait to do it again next year!

Thank you for inviting us to your animation showcase! There was so much great stuff presented, for all ages and fans. Some of the standouts included upcoming projects TERMINATOR: ZERO, a new take on the material done in an anime style, a new TOMB RAIDER series, the concept art from the STRANGER THINGS and GHOSTBUSTERS shows also looked promising. And, of course, ARCANE: LEAGUE OF LEGENDS looks incredible.

Hopefully we can add some of these upcoming projects to our rotation of reactions. Please, Netflix, consider putting more of your originals on physical media.

We saw the first 3 episodes of ❌-MEN ‘97 last night!

I’m happy to report that the series is great so far. I think we all knew the animation would be a much welcomed upgrade from the original series, which was made on a bit of a shoe-string budget and in no time at all. But, we originally fell for the characters, the actors who voiced them, and the relationships.

In this new sixth season, everything has been turned up to a higher volume. The animation and character designs are fantastic, the opening title sequence looks and sounds amazing in ultra high definition, the writing for each character is so strong (with great one-liners), and the Newton Bros did a fantastic job with the score. The characters look and feel like a seamless continuation from the original series, even when voiced by new actors like (Gambit) and (Bishop), pictured above, who do a beautiful job picking up the baton, doing justice to what’s come before while also bringing their own flavor to the characters.

All of the episodes were great, but episode 3 is a real treat for my fellow horror lovers. I can’t wait to watch them again!

🎥 DUNE: PART TWO was incredible in IMAX 70mm 🎞️ Pure science fiction epic storytelling at its finest with heart, passion, deception, action, and all the thrills you could hope for from a film of this scope and scale. It’s remarkable what Denis Villeneuve and his entire creative team, including the visionary DP Greig Fraser, were able to capture. From the dunes of a blood-red, solar eclipsed Arrakis to the dark, cold and infrared battlefield of Geidi Prime, this must be seen on the BIGGEST screen.

The team were kind enough to give me a sneak peek at the 70mm IMAX print once again, and I even had a chance to talk with the projectionist responsible for running this print, which is number 6 of 12 prints made by available around the world. If you’re within a 100-mile radius of the Regal Theater at Irvine Spectrum, I promise you the drive is worth it.

I’m not sure how ☝️ year went by so quick, but it’s been such a fun adventure. We bopped around San Diego and Los Angeles eating some amazing food, drinking some great wine, and closing out the weekend by watching one of our most anticipated movies of the year, Dune, in IMAX 🎥

Life is good. 😊

We got to see the re-release of Christopher Nolan’s TENET and the team were kind enough to give us another tour of the projection booth and see the incredibly enormous 70mm film projector 📽️

One of my favorite things about this theater is their ability to screen 15/70 🎞️ prints at full 1.43:1. These prints, projectors, and screens aren’t as readily available as they used to be just 20 years ago. Being able to see some of Nolan’s films, the way they were intended to be seen, is really special. The experience is one-of-a-kind and totally immersive. The screen is so huge that it completely fills your peripheral vision and makes it feel like you’ve been transported into the story.

Southern California only has a few theaters with 70mm projection capabilities, including Regal at Irvine Spectrum. If you’re between San Diego and LA and are looking for another option for future releases, definitely consider this theater. It was recently remodeled and is housed inside an amazing shopping center filled with restaurants and other entertainment.

Up next for us is DUNE: PART TWO in IMAX 70mm. Only 12 of these prints exist in the entire world, and this theater has print no. 6.

🛰️ We had a great time at the checking out all the fun exhibits they had to offer. Being a fan of science fiction, I’m a sucker for all of the displays showcasing our travels to space, aviation, the 1/5th scale model of the , and the spotlight on the shuttle Endeavor. 🚀

The Science Center also has a laser projector that rotates different documentary films, in 2D and 3D. We watched , the 40-min doc about the new James Webb () telescope that shocked everyone in 2022 with its new infrared photography of deep space. It was really incredible seeing those images on an enormous 7-story screen. It was almost overwhelming at times, physically and emotionally 😂 but definitely worth experiencing. Everyone knows I’m also a sucker for a premium IMAX experience.

In an attempt to not look like too much of a poser, I walked out of there with a new branded bomber too. I think it suits me well and my 10-year-old self who wanted to be an astronaut 🧑‍🚀 would appreciate it.

The museum is FREE 🎟️ minus the specialty exhibits and the IMAX showings. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area looking for something fun to do.

Thank you to the staff at for giving us a tour of their projection booth and letting us see the massive 70mm IMAX print 🎞️ of OPPENHEIMER.

This 15-perf beast weighs 600 lbs and is about 11 miles long. My friend Justin and I used to thread 35mm projectors at our first theater job back in high school. Lots of great memories working in the projection booth. This was a really cool experience to see this massive projection system up close and personal.

As for the movie - it’s still amazing, and it looks and sounds incredible on film. If you’ve got an IMAX 70mm theater within a 100-mile radius, it’s worth the drive.

My first visit to Joshua Tree! It was great to check out Pioneertown and learn some of its history too. Four days in a secluded Airbnb with a whirlpool bath, vinyl records, Scrabble, and wine was definitely our jam. The pupper also enjoyed being spoiled with endless cuddles - he was the real star of the weekend.

The Concession Stand: Series Finale Announcement
