Biography
Kai Valentine is a producer & presenter, currently working for Spark Sunderland & his latest project is the late night call-in show, The Bedtime Babble On, which airs Tuesday & Thursday nights from 10pm until 1am. 12 months ago, he gave up his day-job in order to spend a year focusing on breaking into the industry & building his portfolio. In this time he has hosted a regular Breakfast programme, covered the UK General Elections & Boris Johnson’s visit to Sunderland as well as having some of his favourite on-air moments in 6 years of broadcasting, including features with Jordan North & Iain Lee.
Kai is currently undertaking his MA in Radio at the University of Sunderland. A Drama graduate from the University of Lincoln, upon completing his degree he stayed in the city and continued his work on the management team of local community radio station, Siren Radio, where he took on the role of Local Music Co-ordinator, after building a 400 + track local music database, alongside presenting multiple weekly self produced programmes.
He has worked on a variety of programmes including Breakfast and Drivetime slots, music, chat shows and political commentary, in particular covering the US Elections of 2016.
In October 2017, Kai released a short documentary of being behind the scene’s at Fight Factory Wrestling UK’s Bodyslams to Cancer event (Kai Valentine: Lincoln’s Bodyslam To Cancer.) To which he has been slowly working on a follow up, focusing on mental health within the industry.
