🍎Don’t get brainwashed into believing that you will lack protein. If you’re eating a variety of whole plant foods supplemented with juices and smoothies it’s very hard to lack in the amino acids the body needs to thrive. I’m a 10 year vegan and have never supplemented protein even while pregnant. It should be the least of your worries in regards to supplements.

🍍 Eat a variety of plant foods! This is crucial! You need to be eating a large diversity of foods so that you're able to get the widest spectrum of nutrients. I find that people tend to think salads mean romaine or mixed greens only. 😆This means every time you make a juice or a smoothie switch up the leafy greens. When you’re making a salad challenge yourself to use as much different types of vegetables than you did the day before. The leafy greens are the most important foods to rotate because they contain the most nutrients.

What is protein?
Protein is essential for life – it's a building block of every human cell and is involved in the vital functions of the human body. Dietary proteins are composed of 20 amino acids, 11 of which we can synthesize internally. The other nine amino acids are referred to as essential; as our bodies can’t make them, we must get them from food.

So, how exactly does a raw vegan get protein?
Fortunately, a raw plant-based diet is filled with delicious protein sources, several offering “complete” protein, meaning they contain all nine essential amino acids.Raw plant foods deliver plenty of EASILY-ABSORBED protein, AS WELL AS crucial nutrients, antioxidants, essential fatty acids, fiber, & phytochemicals.

Protein-packed raw foods
🍑Hemp seeds contain about 25 percent protein, plus fiber, nutrients and essential fatty acids. The omega-6 to omega-3 ratio in h**p seed is between 2:1 and 3:1, which is considered optimal for human health. Two tablespoons of h**p hearts provide about eleven grams of complete, easily-assimilated protein at only 40 calories per tablespoon.

Can too much protein be harmful?
The short answer is yes. As with most things in life, there can be too much of a good thing and if you eat too much protein, there may be a price to pay. People that eat very high protein diets have a higher risk of kidney stones. Also a high protein diet that contains lots of red meat and higher amounts of saturated fat might lead to a higher risk of heart disease and colon cancer, while another high protein diet rich in plant-based proteins may not carry similar risks.

🍉Always offer hydrating fruit for breakfast

🍉While they are waiting on dinner make try giving a salad or raw veggies. You’d be surprised at what a hungry child will eat.

🍉Incorporate green smoothies and juices. They are an excellent way to get an array of leafy greens and minerals into their diet

🍉Don't ever force your child to eat something he or she does not want to. Simply try again another day, but always offer or put it on their plate.

🍉Refrain from making “mealtimes" and allow them to eat naturally when they have an actual
appetite. This allows them to go to the food instead of having it pushed down their throats. I find they are more willing when they have a bit more control.

🍉Allow then to play around with healthier versions of their favorite foods like pancakes, French toast sticks, dips.
