Just in from QCinema! We are honoured that our co-production A USEFUL GHOST by Ratchapoom Boonbunchachoke has been awarded the Asian Next Wave Best Picture Award!

From the jury:
"For a film that seamlessly and intricately weaved together all the elements of cinema and made them coherently one. For a show of masterful mise-en-scene, playful storytelling, and having a sharp balance of emotional ambiguity and visual consistency. This film continuously challenged, surprised and stimulated us throughout the journey, and introduced a new exciting voice in Asian Cinema. Absurd, hilarious yet politically charged, the Best Film goes to A USEFUL GHOST by Ratchapoom Boonbunchachoke."

We are so proud of the team and grateful to the esteemed jury for this recognition, and are excited for more bold stories to emerge in Asian cinema!

We’re thrilled to share that Calleen Koh's MY WONDERFUL LIFE has received an Honorable Mention at the 16th Festiwal Kamera Akcja in the International Authors Spotlight Competition! Congrats to Calleen and the team!

The full jury statement reads - "We are honouring a film that demonstrates how many languages can be used to speak about the hardships of everyday life. It explores motherhood in a subversive and unconventional way, yet remains a keen, empathetic observation. The filmmakers use vivid, bold, and at times grotesque formal devices to evoke tenderness – without emotional manipulation or monumental construction. This is a short form that truly moves."

A heartfelt thank you to the jury for this wonderful recognition, we are happy that our story continues to strike an emotional chord with audiences around the world.

Ratchapoom Boonbunchachoke's A USEFUL GHOST has captivated both audiences and the jury at the 2025 Chicago International Film Festival! Our co-production has just received the Silver Q-Hugo Award, and we are incredibly proud of Ratchapoom and the entire team for this well-deserved recognition.

The full jury statement reads - "The Silver Q-Hugo goes to A USEFUL GHOST, directed by Ratchapoom Boonbunchachoke. Pitting vengeful ghosts against a backdrop of a supernatural love story, the film charmingly plays with genre to question how history and myth can probe collective and socio-political grief. Exploring and broadening the definitions of queerness, the film possesses audiences to find the intersections of joy and how history can haunt us if we do not contend with the past. A USEFUL GHOST provides much levity to surprise viewers (and the jury) to reckon with the dustings of memory and loss to ultimately remind us that history, can in fact, repeat."
