The Lipton Chai Blog A curation of a series of interesting things related to Kashmir; stories, funnies and the works. Us Kashmiris are a funny bunch. Why Lipton Chai?

Our language is hilarious, our abuses visual. We have a few odd mannerisms, strange ways of speech and the best cuisine. I plan to curate a series of interesting things I’ve always wondered about during my extensive free time in public transport. All these thoughts are also why I don’t want a full time job and hope I’ll make money off of my them. Kashmiris have a famous pink salty tea, called Nun

Chai. To differentiate between the two teas, sweet and salty, we call one Lipton and the other Nun Chai. This is also the only place where I’ve heard English breakfast tea being called Lipton, for the brand. Again, this was one of the numerous things I could pick up on but then again, what’s a better time to sit and discuss frivolities than over a cup of lipton chai and tsochvoruat 5 pm? Waliv Chai Cheyev? Do come and join in for some tea please! The Lipton Chai Blog is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License.
