DO you own a Ti Kai? Do you know anyone who does? Is it abandoned? Is it in danger of being demolished? Please let SHAPE know. SHAPE will partner with owners of Ti Kais all over Dominica to help save our vernacular architecture. Instead of being pulled down and sent to the trash heap.

In the old days, these houses were moved from one location to another. They can be again. We can repurpose and add value to these beautiful wooden homes. SHAPE is thereby offering to be a facilitator to obtain abandoned Ti Kais and enable the sustainable use of our Ti Kais which are an Icon of our Heritage that tell a story of how we lived, how we built and how we survived our weather, thereby providing lessons for today’s builders and architects.

LET HER OUT

I can tell you why you cannot seem to become that woman you so very much aspire to be.

She is not you.

You are, quite wrongly, chasing an ideal of a woman you will never be.

And you are, quite wrongly, ignoring the woman that you already so very much are.

And peace will not come until you take a deep hard look at yourself and see the plethora of wonder, grace and humanity.
All wrapped up, a little messily, into a loveable parcel of real-ness.

Humans do not come perfectly packaged, with a warranty or guarantee.

We are miracles of science, nature and a little magic.
Born of centuries of incredible ancestors who walked through fire and ice to bring us to life.

And we cannot be tamed into a neat little box.

Stop chasing the ideal of a woman you were not born to be and start embracing she who is fizzing fiercely to be seen, right in front of your eyes.

Let her out.

AT THE END OF THE DAY
At the end of the day, I hope you can say you chose happiness. That you chose to find joy within the smaller, softer moments that tugged at your heartstrings. That you did not wait for Friday, for next month, for Summer to go out and experience all of the beauty this world has to offer. At the end of the day, I hope you can say you're proud of how hard you fought to become the best version of yourself.
That you unapologetically and courageously chose growth, chose healing- even on the days you did not know how, even on the days it hurt. At the end of the day, I hope you can say you chose your life. That you did not settle or conform or shrink vourself to fit into someone else's cage. That you can boldly and loudly declare that you are and have always been the author of your story. At the end of the day, I hope you can say you did your best. That you relentlessly pursued your dreams and chased all that ignited something bright within your soul. That you slammed yourself into the people and places, experiences and opportunities that were placed before you. That you did not hold yourself back. That you did not stand in your own way. That you went all in and never looked back.
