"Subduxtion is the moniker of Christopher Gilmore, an American composer and producer originally from Kansas City and known for his experiments in electronics, psychedelia, doom and classic metal. In this sense, "The Black Point" is also no exception, the artist's latest record effort, in which we find seven very dense tracks, with claustrophobic and electric sounds. To open the album is "The Ancient", very dark and immersed in a cold industrial setting, then "Frail (Fixed Later)" looks for more elaborate solutions, sliding on a loop in which relaxed moments alternate with others of pure pathos, in a gait that at times also winks at psychedelia. "Dimension Of A Post-Corporal World" is a more linear journey, but the scenario is still in dark colors, as the title may suggest, while the subsequent "Abstract Decaying" is undoubtedly the best time of the lot for the greater variety and unpredictability of its path. The titletrack, on the other hand, is less dusty and more limpid, while manifesting a certain basic anxiety, then "When Motive Becomes Elusive" recovers the patterns of the opener, with lots of electricity and a constant rhythm. Closes "Unseen": over nine minutes of a dark theme, which would not disfigure as a background in some horror film. "The Black Point" is an overall successful album, but the feeling is that for someone it can be heavy at times, due to the excessive linearity of the songs." (Piergiuseppe Lippolis)
