Go to the OP for the event, Texans.
This is Vince Cantu. He's the owner of Moses Rose's Hideout, a popular bar and grill right across from the Alamo in San Antonio, TX.
The San Antonio city government is trying to steal Vince's business from him, and is calling him greedy and selfish for wanting to not be robbed.
Vince bought the property nearly 20 years ago, and it was in a shambles. He and his family rebuilt it themselves: patching floors, tearing out drywall, repainting. You name it, they did it.
After years of struggling to keep it afloat, Moses Rose's has become a very popular hangout in San Antonio.
Then the city decided to undergo a $500 million "restoration" plan for the Alamo, which includes purchasing several adjacent properties, including Moses Rose's.
Vince said he was happy to negotiate, and made an opening offer.
The city responded by publicly calling Vince "greedy" and "selfish", and then voting to take Moses Rose's using eminent domain.
Vince continues to resist it, along with the help of the Libertarian Party of Texas and many other organizations.
I, and You Are The Power, are also throwing our support behind Vince and Mose's Roses.
Join us next Saturday, March 11 at Travis Park starting at 5pm for a rally to support Moses Rose's. I'll put an event link in the comments.
And if you live in San Antonio, be sure to let the city council and Mayor Ron Nirenberg know what you think about their attempted robbery.
YOU are the POWER!
