“It’s not about what you do…it’s who you know.” OK...but what if you don’t know them yet? And how do people get to know you? If you’re a filmmaker, you have hundreds of local and regional film festivals to submit you new project to with the hope of getting it recognized. Film festivals are essential for young filmmakers to get their careers in the entertainment industry off the ground. So why are there so few venues for reality TV content producers? Where is the joy and excitement of a “red carpet premiere" for the rest of us? FilmStudent can have that experience from a thesis film, we believe that the creative minds in the unscripted world are just as deserving of that experience as well, if not more so. Jolt TV is here to fill a void left vacant within the entertainment industry for too long: an L.A. based, independent showcase that gives producers of non-scripted programming a platform to show their work. We are more rewarding and constructive than just submitting cold to an agency or production company, and more accessible and affordable than big conferences like RealScreen. So join us.
