Last month, a couple beloved members of Austin’s film community and Paper Street’s extended family were dealt some absolutely devastating news. Our pal, Ben — also known as “Ben E-F”, “Bucket Ben”, and/or “Gaffer Extraordinaire” — was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He and his wife, Michelle Millette, have worked with us going back to our early short films and very first feature, with Ben serving as gaffer on movies including SCARE PACKAGE and SHELBY OAKS, so we aren’t kidding when we say we consider them part of our family.

His situation is not curable, nor is it operable, but Ben has started chemotherapy and they are fighting this as best they can with the treatments available. The diagnosis blindsided the two of them and upended their whole world, with neither able to take on any extended work at this time. ‘THE BUNKER’ — a new Paper Street Pictures feature from director and co-writer Brian Hanson (‘THE BLACK STRING’) and starring Chelsea Edmundson (‘THE IRON CLAW’) and horror icons Tobin Bell (‘SAW’) and Tony Todd (‘CANDYMAN’) in one of his final performances — is out now on VOD!

Set against the backdrop of an alien invasion, a group of scientists are sealed in an underground bunker and tasked with saving the world. But who will save them from themselves? A trippy sci-fi/horror/thriller, is available to rent or buy on all major platforms, including iTunes, Amazon, Fandango, and more!

Per : Dark Sky Films has acquired the North American distribution rights to the indie horror ‘BLOOD SHINE’, the latest feature from husband & wife filmmaking duo & (‘ALONE WITH YOU’)! Following a successful festival run that included Sitges Film Festival and Brooklyn Horror Film Festival, will release later this year! We’re excited for people to see this film, described as a “striking blend of arthouse sensibility and visceral folk horror.”

2023 was a weird and challenging year, but we still managed to release three films. All of which very different in style, tone and approach. And all of which wonderfully successful in their own right. Our motto of HORROR WITH HEART is indeed alive and well 🖤🏴‍☠️🩸

We also managed to help get two other unannounced projects shot that will be coming soon and already have three other films that will be releasing in 2024: SHELBY OAKS, TRIM SEASON and THE BUNKER

This, alongside 4 other features that we have internally greenlit and, *hopefully* a huge step forward into our largest and most ambitious adventure to date 🫠☠️

It’s not always easy, but nothing truly great ever is, right? So thank you for going on this journey with us, a journey that truly is just getting started 🖤🔥🤘
