Very sad today to learn about the passing of the great Cliff Waldron. Mr. Waldron had a warm and clear baritone voice, and by all accounts, was an outstanding bandleader for many years. We will remember this fine musician during Sunday's WHUS Bluegrass Cafe. Rest in peace, Cliff Waldron.

Bluegrass singer and bandleader Cliff Waldron, early partner with Bill Emerson, died yesterday in Virginia. He was 83 years of age.

Sunday, again! Are you ready for our WHUS Bluegrass Cafe? It'll be on your airwaves in 6 minutes or less. :) Today's agenda includes celebrating some June birthdays AND sharing a whole lot of brand-new music. We'll squeeze in some classic favorites, too...probably pulled off of our one very-full BG library shelf at WHUS Radio. The over-stuffed shelf seen here (behind my large noggin) desperately needs some weeding this summer, but we'll save that for another day. For now, get ready for Bluegrass from 4-7PM today: 91.7 on your FM dial in eastern CT or listen online from anywhere: http://fm.whus.org

Hey everyone. It's Commencement Day at UConn! Big congratulations to all of the graduates, but as the parking on-campus will be downright awful this afternoon (and the weather forecast is calling for rain), I think it's best to just skip the idea of having a live broadcast of our WHUS Bluegrass Cafe this afternoon. We will plan to join you live in the studio once again next Sunday afternoon (5/12) from 4-7PM.

There is a COVID-era BG Cafe airing now until 7PM. Yup, it's an old recording, but it's still Bluegrass music, so that's definitely a good thing! If you'd like to tune in to the old show, it can be found at 91.7 on your FM dial in eastern CT or listen online from anywhere: http://stream.whus.org:8000/whusfm

Around about 5PM, we've also got some brand new music to share from the likes of Del McCoury, Danny Paisley, Tony Trischka, and more. Join us? We can found now 'til 7PM at 91.7 on your FM dial in eastern CT or listen online from anywhere: http://fm.whus.org

It's so wonderful to know that the Boston Bluegrass Union is hosting indoor shows once again in Lexington, MA! And how fun to see they have The Gibson Brothers (with special guest Shawn Lane on mandolin) scheduled to play there this coming Saturday evening, April 27th! In a totally "full circle" moment, the Gibsons were the last act to play for BBU in a Lexington show in January 2020...shortly before the world shut down and the pandemic overtook us all. This should be a great show! Check it out, if you can...
