Cow Horse Council Everyone has a viewpoint. While some of us feel free to express our viewpoints boldly, even quiet voices deserve to be heard and considered.

The Cow Horse Council believes an industry’s voice should be made up of many thoughts and ideas.

What does everyone think about allowing trainers wives/children to enter the NRCHA Amateur in the LAE classes.
Tammy Hays has this to say.

This is buried on the Reno Snaffle Bit Futurity page:
Dar Hansen "To try to answer some of the questions posted here:
NRCHA filed for the trademark in 2017, after the RSBF announced they would be holding a futurity in 2017 in Reno.
We have not been required to “check the box" any of the previous years.
The reason that we don’t just “check the box” is because we don’t believe that the NRCHA has the right to own the trademark. By checking the box we would be saying that we acknowledge NRCHA owns the trademark. I am not going to sign the approval application with the box checked if it's something I don’t believe!!!!
We have asked the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) to review the trademark.
We have done nothing, and do not plan to do anything to damage the NRCHA’s name. We consider ourselves part of the NRCHA.
In my last correspondence with the NRCHA, I asked them to suspend the "checking of the box" requirement until after we had a decision from the USPTO, and the NRCHA board declined.
All RSBF earnings will still be counted in all the pedigrees and sale catalogs as reined cow horse monies/LTEs.
If anyone would like to discuss this matter further, I’d be more than happy to talk to you. Please email [email protected] or message us on Facebook with your phone number and I will call you back. Thank you!"

This is the statement that was used by the NRCHA to obtain the trademark AFTER the original request was refused. This is what we are disputing. It is all public record and can be viewed by anybody at https://ttabvue.uspto.gov/. How many of you believe this to be an accurate statement? Do you believe that no other organization or show uses the term “Snaffle Bit Futurity” and that the NRCHA was the only one to use it for the immediate five years prior to the date of that statement?

Starting a new conversation.
Does the NRCHA have the rights to trademark "Snaffle Bit Futurity"?
Why did they need to do it?
Who does it benefit?

My thought, why not use the membership to tell the NRCHA to stop. The money used on both sides for the lawsuits are coming out of the WIN money!

I know we're a bit behind, here's some info from the Reno Snaffle Bit Futurity fb page. If you find more it to help organize.
