"No industry or country can reach its full potential until women reach their full potential."
Girls are the future mothers of any society. Every girl that receives an education is more likely to make education a priority for her children. It’s a ripple effect of positive change in the community and country.
“Real change happens when we invest in girls. Every year, millions of girls are denied an education at a time when it has the power to transform their lives and the world around them. If a girl is able to make it through primary and secondary education, it can help them break the cycle of poverty and it can help put a stop to early and forced marriage
Craftsmanship - Treasure of Kashmiriyat
Kashmir is renowned for the vast variety of handicrafts that is produced here. Kashmir has always been a land of great poets and philosophers but one can not only restrict Kashmir to them it also houses some of the great artisans and artists who produce exquisite carpets, gold ornaments, embroidered shawls. Finely chiseled wood work of walnut and oak, silver ware, exquisitely colored and painted papier mache and garments are made of leather and fur.
There has always been a misconception among people as they tend to link Kashmiri handicrafts with carpets only but in fact there is much more to Kashmir's handicrafts industry. There are different qualities available in the market to suit every pocket from as low as Rs 10 to as high as few lakhs. People can always find things here suiting there budgets.

‘Shun militancy’: Kashmir mother appeals to son day after his AK-47 wielding photograph goes viral
Mymoona, a distraught mother, told journalists at Press Enclave in Srinagar that “this is the first time ever his son lied to her. I never expected that he would take this step”.
A day after his picture with an AK-47 rifle surfaced on the social media, the mother of 18-year-old Srinagar boy Fahad Mushtaq made a passionate appeal for his son: “Our home was saved in 2014 deluge, but this deluge will sweep my whole household. My son! Come back.”
Mymoona, a distraught mother, told journalists at Press Enclave in Srinagar that “this is the first time ever his son lied to her. I never expected that he would take this step”.
Last Friday, as per Mymoona, Fahad, who has reportedly joined Lashkar-e-Toiba militant outfit, told her that he is going with Tableegi Jamaat (evangelists).
“He was more inclined towards religion from last year. So, I let him go. He had been going with them. He had promised me that he will return on Monday, but never came back. We were shocked to see his picture brandishing a rifle on social media,” said wailing Mymoona.
Fahad, a resident of Akalmir Khanyar area of Srinagar’s old city had last year failed to qualify his 10th class examination, said his uncle Zahoor Ahmad Wani.
“He was looking disturbed. Something was brewing inside him. He was not even interested in studies. But, we didn’t know that he would take this extreme step where death is expected any moment,” said Wani.

Watch This Sweet Video Of Kashmiri Kids Singing Tamana Chani Deedaruk
Rahul Wanchoo, born in Mishriwala camp of Jammu gives us a heart-rendering version of the song written by Sahitya Academy award winner Shafi Shaida (1943-2010) for Kashmiri pandits.
The video shot by Naveen Pandita of Gaash films captures the physical aspect of exile - the vast garden like beautiful dream canvas of Kashmir and the grim reality of matchboxes houses in Jammu. At a still deeper level it dwells in the psychological. The withering and the dithering existence. The contrast of visuals turn the wordings of the lyrics, original of which had a note of hope, into searing pain, a true longing. A longing for home, awaiting the true call.
