Special Weather Statement for Bradford County issued by National Weather Service Binghamton, NY at 14:47 EDT Fri, Jul 9, 2021
AN AREA OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL AFFECT SOUTHERN CHEMUNG, SOUTHWESTERN TIOGA AND NORTHWESTERN BRADFORD COUNTIES.
At 247 PM EDT, strong thunderstorms were clustered near Wellsburg, or near Elmira, moving southeast at 30 mph.
Winds in excess of 30 mph and pea size hail are possible with this storm.
Locations impacted include: Chemung, Elmira, Southport, Barton, Horseheads, Sayre, Waverly, Elmira Heights, Athens and Towanda.
Heavy rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may cause localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
Be prepared for strong winds, heavy rain and lots of lightning this evening, especially along the twin tiers of Southern NY and Northeast PA. Stay alert for possible warnings.
Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Bradford County issued by National Weather Service
Binghamton, NY 15:08 EDT Tue, Jul 6, 2021.
The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for: Southern Otsego County in central New York, Broome County in central New York, Northwestern Delaware County in central New York, Southeastern Tioga County in central New York, Southern Chenango County in central New York, Northern Susquehanna County in northeastern Pennsylvania, Northwestern Wayne County in northeastern Pennsylvania, Northeastern Bradford County in northeastern Pennsylvania until 345 PM EDT.
At 308 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Laurens to Bainbridge to near Warren Center, moving east at 60 mph.
60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail possible. Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include: Binghamton, Vestal, Johnson City, Oneonta, Endicott, Kirkwood, Conklin, Sidney, Walton and Delhi.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
Large hail and damaging winds and continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
Heavy rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
A line of moderate to heavy rain continues to slowly move eastward through the area.

A line of strong thunderstorms will affect: Chemung, southwestern Tioga, southeastern Steuben and Bradford counties until 1100 PM EDT.
At 1017 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Corning to near Blossburg. Movement was east at 30 mph.
Half inch hail and strong wind gusts will be possible with these storms. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.

Heavy snow moving Northeast. Snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour expected. This will reduce visibility and make for horrible travel conditions this afternoon. Please use caution!

A bunch of slow-moving thunderstorms continue to develop across the area. Heavy downpours, gusty winds and hail possible.
This latest batch of heavy rain has much of Bradford County under yet another Flash Flood Warning. Most of which are already impacted areas.
Heavy rain will continue to fall for another hour or so in most of Bradford County. Many roads are washed out or water covered.
According to a PennDOT news release, these roads have been closed either due to the flooding or pipe issues:
• Route 187 at the intersection with Captain Moore Road in Windham Township
• Route 1056 (Cotton Hollow Road) between Route 1055 (Battle Creek Road) and Route 187 in Windham Township
• Route 1049 (Leraysville Road) between Cadis Road and Route 187 in Windham Township
• Route 1055 (Battle Creek Road) between Arnold Road/North Orwell Road in Rome Township and Waterman Road in Windham Township.
The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch which continues until noon on Monday for Bradford and Sullivan counties and surrounding areas.
Rain moving through Bradford County with more showers to the west. Looking like an on and off, wet evening. We sure could use the rain!
This Footage, obtained from Casey Chamberlain, from a security camera at the Regan and Zach Blumenauer residence on Route 220 in Monroeton, Meredith Colony area, just before Patton Hill Road and Franklin Road.
The feed was cut shortly after the camera was knocked off the house by the wind. The tree fell seconds later, causing a power outage. After the feed was cut, the winds were strong enough to pickup the 900lb trailer and force it into the truck.
