The proliferation of social, multi-media in the past decade has been unprecedented. Most everything now is accessible through apps, social networks, interactive media, and the like. Most everything except Canada’s road rules, and their instruction that is. For this we still lean on the dry, and dense print material found in government texts across our provinces. What we are p
roposing is an updating of driving instruction print media into an accessible and relevant collection of multi-media that will involve a video series, smart-phone apps, and a social network. These media may be used independently, or in conjunction with official government texts as a tool for driver education, and resource for information. The proposed video series will be based in large part on official government texts, but will also work to help clarify the material presented in them through the use of audio-visual instruction, entertaining anecdotes, and other examples. These additions will aid in the learning process by making the instructions easier to remember and more accessible to all students, including those with differing styles of communication and learning. They will also be a more effective way to drive home certain points regarding the consequences of dangerous and irresponsible driving through the use of skits and examples.
