“I speak with conviction about absurdity” -
Hullo all! I’m M (she/her), grateful and elated to have the opportunity to DM at The Great Games Library!
Growing up, DnD was something I was curious about, but didn’t have access to. A few years back I stumbled across actual-play podcasts, jumped in with both feet.. and y’all already know why I’m here!
As someone who has only solo-enjoyed and barely played TTRPG, I’m looking forward to Learning While Doing at the table. Creation, consequences, and cooperation are what I aim for! I’m not just seeking the best solution I can come up with, but the most equitable solution all-around.
As a DM, I:
* firmly believe that to Fool Around is Human, and to Find Out is Divine
shoot for a balance between meta- and immersive storytelling— what are the overarching themes here, and what is that ~weird~ smell you notice?
* view the Rules as the crunchy supportive crust to the creamy delightful creative process— “What abilities, mechanics, and rolls could allow this Cool Thing to happen?”
* lean more towards homebrewing; and will be offering official lore-based one shots with Adventurer’s Guild in the future
* am committed to Table Tenets of mutual respect, communication, and support. Multiple things can be true at once, AND those truths don’t always align. Conflict can be the grit that polishes if we’re open to the friction.
*Note: M actively practices the idea that “discomfort is not damage”; and for discomfort to be explored, safety tools such as “Lines and Veils” and “traffic lights” will be actively used at the table to navigate these situations. Disrespect, dismissiveness, and discrimination of any kind are not welcome at the table.
