The first day of classes at AUF Integrated School on July 8, 2024, featured various booths, including help desks, a trivia booth, and free ice cream, all staffed by the student council and Hi-NEWS, Sr. Students attended orientation sessions for their advisory classes and enjoyed live band performances while exploring the booths.

The event aimed to help students familiarize themselves with the campus and resources, setting a positive tone for the new academic year.

ANGELES CITY, Philippines (June 19, 2024)— The AUF-Integrated School Santa Barbara Campus is currently hosting a tree planting project to combat the rising heat index affecting students and staff. The project, spearheaded by the Student Council and Hi-NEWS, Sr., aims to mitigate climate change impacts.

This initiative is part of the school’s commitment to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals, specifically targeting climate action. Various trees, including 26 Talisay trees, 23 Fire trees, 20 Uno Corpus, and other ornamental plants are being planted in strategic locations around the campus.

The effort highlights the dedication of the student body to creating a sustainable and comfortable environment at AUF SBC.

As our forebears wrote thousands of pages for the Philippines’ history, we Filipinos continue to make a movement for our story to become never-ending. Our win for our independence is only a spark for the flame of liberty, from our ancestors sacrificing during the colonial era for the afterbirth of our motherland to our youth, now, sacrificing for justice for us all.

Today, we commemorate the annual celebration of our nation’s Independence Day. As our country faces gravitating challenges towards its sovereignty and territorial integrity, the 126th Independence Day of the Philippines entwines with the theme of “Kalayaan. Kinabukasan. Kasaysayan.” The celebration goes by honoring the glory of our country’s salient history for the fight for our freedom and shaping our future. As 126 years go by with our Country’s independence, our people continue to keep the burning spirit of fighting for freedom in various aspects.

This day is a reminder for us all to cherish what our country has been through, and how that is an opportunity to commit to the values of being a Filipino. A reminder to tell the stories of the valorous deeds of our heroes and the country’s spirit of patriotism. A reminder that each day should be a time to devote to our ideals and nationalism.

𝐈𝐂𝐘𝐌𝐈 | 𝐇𝐒𝐂 𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦: Grade 12 Angeleneans under the Health Sciences Curriculum (HSC+) took part in the Research Poster Presentation 2024 last April 23 and 24 at Angeles University Foundation – Santa Barbara Campus (AUF-SBC), St. Mary (SM) Building.

Organized by the Junior High School (JHS) and Senior High School (SHS) Science and Young Researchers’ Club officers and moderators, the two-day Science Exhibit event entitled “Extracting the Secrets of Science & Enriching Minds of Tomorrow’s Innovators” involved two representatives from each research group to present their respective research studies to an esteemed group of panelists. The oral defense presentations covered a wide array of topics in the field of science.

Following each presentation, the members of the panel carefully assessed the students’ research papers, looking closely into the methodology, data analysis, and theoretical frameworks employed.

“As for the trademarks of being a good researcher, you have to set a goal first and have patience and hard work. You have to focus, set a goal, and finish what you started,” added Ms. Agnes P. Garing, a professor from the College of Allied Medical Professions (CAMP) department, AUF - Main Campus.

The panelists for the first day are from various colleges in AUF who are namely: Ms. Sheila S. Cabral (CAS BIO), Ms. Roselle S. Arbas (CAMP), Engr. Carolyn A. Arbotante (CAS BIO), and Ms. Zenaida F. Mergal (CAS BIO). For the second day, these panelists are joined by Ms. Agnes Garing (CAMP) and Ms. Lanie Tabangay (CAS BIO).

Following the research presentations and a brief break, the award ceremonies commenced.

On Day 1, Martha Sophia Navata and Ricardo Adisna Jr. from 12 - St. Martin were recognized as the best presenters. The second-best presenters were Reese Valerie Gantan and Angel Cristine Evette Lacson from 12 - St. Blaise, succeeded by Eunice Fhaye Pantig and Hannah Kim Ocampo from 12 - St. Martin, who secured third place.

On Day 2, the best presenters were Luis Gabriel Lampa and Eileen Agustin from 12 - St. Kolbe. Owen Raphael Molina and Ken Magsino from 12 - St. Albert bagged the second place, while Regina Anne Marges and Ahron Maniti from 12 - St. Damian came in third.

Consequently, the best research paper awards were given to the respective research teams of Martha Sophia Navata from 12 - St. Martin for Day 1 and Luis Gabriel Lampa from 12 - St. Kolbe for Day 2.

The Science Exhibit served as a platform for students to showcase their academic excellence, highlighting the dedication and hard work put forth by these young researchers in advancing knowledge and contributing to the field of science.

We urge all media entities to adhere to the highest standards of journalism, which emphasize the importance of fact-checking and verifying information before publication. The spreading of unverified news not only tarnishes the credibility of journalism but also inflicts unnecessary harm on those affected.

We also encourage media outlets and individuals alike to exercise restraint and sensitivity in their reporting and social media interactions. This is not a matter to be taken lightly or to be sensationalized. Spreading unverified information can have serious consequences and may exacerbate the situation.

Additionally, we call on citizens to remain vigilant and discerning, especially when there are no official statements from the authorities or individuals directly involved. It is essential to refrain from spreading rumors or unconfirmed reports.

In times like these, it is more important than ever to uphold the principles of responsible journalism and to prioritize accuracy over speed. We call on all media outlets and individuals to exercise caution, empathy, and integrity in their reporting to prevent further harm.

Embodying the spirit never ceases for the Angelenean students who competed at the Holy Angel University’s 40th Pamicalugud Academic Quiz Bee (Senior High School Level) last February 21, 2024.

Out of 19 participating schools, team AUF-IS garnered the 2nd runner-up position, comprising:

Four Angelenean math wizards stepped up to the challenge of the recently held Mathematical Society of the Philippines-National Capital Region (MSP-NCR) Nationwide Senior High Search for Math Wizz last February 24, 2024 at Mapúa University, Intramuros, Manila.

Kalel Jocen David, from 11 - St. Peter, clinched one of the 16 spots out of 250 participants, securing his place in the event’s semifinals.

The rest of the AUF-IS Team, Bryle Ivan Tamayo from 11 - St. Peter, Riejed Aniko Macatula from 12 - St. Isidore, and Brent Matthew David from 12 - St. Lawrence, all participated and showcased their skills in the competition. They were accompanied by their coaches, Ms. Angelie Sotto and Mr. Bren Albert Sotto.

This was the first time AUF-IS joined the competition.

Angelenean journalists triumphed at the recently held Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) 2024 in Angeles Elementary School, last January 30 to February 1, 2024.

3rd place Science Writing - English: Gilliana Chloe Santos
4th place Editorial Writing - Filipino: Marielle Charlize Montenegro

BIGGER, BETTER, SMARTER, STRONGER — The RSPC journey has begun for the Team AUF English Radio Broadcasting (RB-E) as they emerged as first place in the RB-E category of the recently held Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) 2024 in Angeles Elementary School, last January 30 to February 1, 2024.

Team AUF Filipino Radio Broadcasting (RB-F), on the other hand, bagged second place in the RB-F category of the contest and brought home special awards.
