๐๐ก ๐ฃ๐๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ฆ: Grade 12 Angeleneans under the Health Sciences Curriculum (HSC+) took part in the Research Poster Presentation 2024 last April 23 and 24 at Angeles University Foundation โ Santa Barbara Campus (AUF-SBC), St. Mary (SM) Building.
Organized by the Junior High School (JHS) and Senior High School (SHS) Science and Young Researchersโ Club officers and moderators, the two-day Science Exhibit event entitled โExtracting the Secrets of Science & Enriching Minds of Tomorrowโs Innovatorsโ involved two representatives from each research group to present their respective research studies to an esteemed group of panelists. The oral defense presentations covered a wide array of topics in the field of science.
Following each presentation, the members of the panel carefully assessed the studentsโ research papers, looking closely into the methodology, data analysis, and theoretical frameworks employed.
โAs for the trademarks of being a good researcher, you have to set a goal first and have patience and hard work. You have to focus, set a goal, and finish what you started,โ added Ms. Agnes P. Garing, a professor from the College of Allied Medical Professions (CAMP) department, AUF - Main Campus.
The panelists for the first day are from various colleges in AUF who are namely: Ms. Sheila S. Cabral (CAS BIO), Ms. Roselle S. Arbas (CAMP), Engr. Carolyn A. Arbotante (CAS BIO), and Ms. Zenaida F. Mergal (CAS BIO). For the second day, these panelists are joined by Ms. Agnes Garing (CAMP) and Ms. Lanie Tabangay (CAS BIO).
Following the research presentations and a brief break, the award ceremonies commenced.
On Day 1, Martha Sophia Navata and Ricardo Adisna Jr. from 12 - St. Martin were recognized as the best presenters. The second-best presenters were Reese Valerie Gantan and Angel Cristine Evette Lacson from 12 - St. Blaise, succeeded by Eunice Fhaye Pantig and Hannah Kim Ocampo from 12 - St. Martin, who secured third place.
On Day 2, the best presenters were Luis Gabriel Lampa and Eileen Agustin from 12 - St. Kolbe. Owen Raphael Molina and Ken Magsino from 12 - St. Albert bagged the second place, while Regina Anne Marges and Ahron Maniti from 12 - St. Damian came in third.
Consequently, the best research paper awards were given to the respective research teams of Martha Sophia Navata from 12 - St. Martin for Day 1 and Luis Gabriel Lampa from 12 - St. Kolbe for Day 2.
The Science Exhibit served as a platform for students to showcase their academic excellence, highlighting the dedication and hard work put forth by these young researchers in advancing knowledge and contributing to the field of science.
