POLICE CONDUCT INTELLIGENCE-LED OPERATIONS, ARREST 43 SUSPECTS FOR COMMON NUISANCE

Date: October 11, 2025

The Police in KM, in collaboration with the Police Intervention Unit, on Thursday, October 9, 2025, conducted an intelligence-led operation across Bundung and Serekunda, arresting 43 individuals for common nuisance and related offences.

Following screening by the Criminal Intelligence Unit, 30 suspects were charged with common nuisance contrary to Section 137 of the Criminal Offences Act, 2025. Nine were referred to the Gambia Immigration Department for further action, while two individuals believed to be mentally unstable were taken to Tanka Tanka Psychiatric Hospital for treatment. One suspect was released on medical grounds, and another escaped during screening.

The operation targeted known hotspots and high-risk zones, reflecting the GPF’s proactive approach to intelligence-led policing to deter crime and enhance public safety.

The Gambia Police Force extends its gratitude to the sister security services involved in the operation for their continued cooperation and support in safeguarding lives and property.

The GPF reaffirms commitment to maintaining peace, law, and order, and urges the public to continue supporting law enforcement efforts by reporting suspicious activities.
