Project Storm Relief 2001 Hoisington, KS...Kathryn Piotrowski watched in horror as a night time EF-4 ripped through the community.

Created by Kathryn Piotrowski
To help communities and indiviuals affected by severe weather events with donations from proceeds from items I create. 100% from t-shirts to 10%+ from Storm Chasing DVDs! Kathryn gave her first interview to CNN which was at the command post just hours after the tornado struck. "I remember the children at the shelter/command post...they didn't have any toys...and the

parents were so overwhelmed with the devastation...it would have been nice if the children would have had something to occupy their time and not feel so anxious." In 2004, Jeff and Kathryn were storm chasing in separate vehicles...Jeff filmed the devastating tornado that almost wiped the tiny community of Franklin, MO off of the map. Kathryn, was behind this massive storm system and made it into Franklin, KS 30 minutes after the twister hit. Kathryn had started taking small new toys with her to deliver to the command posts of tornado ravaged communities and when she stopped to ask an official where the command post was, so she could drop off the toys, the officer looked at her and said your standing in it...they were both standing in the middle of total devastation in Franklin, KS. She began a house to house search for families with small children and it was the impact of seeing the terror in one little girls eyes soften as Kathryn gave the little girl a stuffed poodle which spurred her on to expand her relief efforts from just toys, to donations for the needs of the severe weather impacted communities. Kathryn contacted the rebuilding projects for the community of Franklin, KS and found out their greatest need and concern was that they did not have a storm siren for this rural community. It just made sense and the next donation was made to Franklin, KS for their storm siren. The main donation was given by actor Paul Newman and so the community of Franklin now has a storm siren. Then in 2005 Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, and surrounding coastal cities...the impact
was unquestionably one of the deadliest in the history of the United States.Jeff and
Kathryn Piotrowski are not strangers to devastation, having experienced the traumatic aftermaths of countless tornado events in their stormchasing careers. Always wanting to make a difference, finding a way to help, Kathryn Piotrowski brought to life “ProJect Storm Relief” and designed a calendar in a matter of a couple of months to help raise money for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. "Thank you to everyone for purchasing the calendar and changing the lives of many". Project Storm Relief - Project Storm Relief primary source for donation is derived from purchases of items created by Kathryn and sold via TwisterChasers on cafepress - storm chasing gear. 100% of the proceeds of the sales go directly to Project Storm relief. Your purchases of our stormchaser t-shirts fund the purchase of new toys, blankets and also help with other needs encountered by victims of storm damage. PSR delivered toys to GREENSBURG, KS, Joplin, MO and others... also donated to Oprah’s Katrina Project for the Angel Network, to Global Green (Providing “Green” rebuilding for Persons affected by Hurricane Katrina and the American Red Cross. In 2011, the 7th deadliest tornado in US history hit the community of Joplin, MO. PSR is giving through the efforts of founder, Kathryn Piotrowski and those who are purchasing the DVD "Storm Chasing the Joplin EF-5" Miraculous Stories of Survival and Selfless Courage". 10% + of the proceeds from the sale of the DVD go to helping local charities in Joplin, the rebuilding of Joplin and aid to several individuals with great need after this devastating tornado.. Again, THANKYOU for supporting Project Storm Relief.
