The contest is a song lyric contest. Candidates must submit six works of Opera:
- 2 will be presented during the playoffs.
- 2 will be presented during the semi-finals.
- 2 will be presented at the final. Candidates must bring the original scores of works presented. Playoffs : April 16 to April 2
5, 2012, individual auditions of 30 minutes. Winners' Concert : May 1, 2012, Paris 16e. A prize will be awarded to the best tenor. A prize will be awarded to the best baritone. A prize will be awarded to the best mezzo. A prize will be awarded to the best soprano. The closing date for entries is April 15, 2012 midnight GMT +1. Pre-registration :
Candidates must call +33 6 75 79 83 18 or send an email to [email protected] to request a audition with Miss Florence GUILMAULT, Director of the Contest, they must provide their name, age, phone number and email address, they will be notified by phone or email the date, time and place of audition. The playoffs are held at 16 rue Dufrénoy, Paris 16e, and 102 rue Boileau, Paris 16e, they occur as individual auditions of 30 minutes. Registration :
Before the beginning of the audition candidates must complete, date and sign the registration form and contest rules, enclose a photocopy of a valid identity document, and a check in the amount of 30 euros payable to MMI for registration fees. Playoffs :
Candidates must submit two works of opera of their choice from the 6 they have listed on their registration form. The piano accompaniment is provided by Miss Florence GUILMAULT. Following the audition Miss Florence GUILMAULT informs candidates if selected for the semi-finals. Unsuccessful candidates after the playoffs are not entitled to reimbursement of their fees in the contest. Semi-Final :
Candidates must submit two works of opera of their choice from the 6 they have listed on their registration form, they can't present the works they have presented above in the playoffs. The piano accompaniment is provided by the pianist of the competition, however, candidates may be accompanied by their pianist. A jury of four professional opera deliberates and informs candidates if selected for the final. Unsuccessful candidates after the semi-final will not be entitled to reimbursement of their fees in the contest. Final :
Candidates must submit two works of opera of their choice from the 6 they have listed on their registration form, they can't present the works they have presented above in the playoffs and semi-finals. After deliberation, the jury awards a prize for each of the following categories : best tenor, baritone, best mezzo, best soprano. Candidates not awarded after the finals are not entitled to reimbursement of their fees in the contest. Conflict :
Only the Management of the Contest is entitled to respond to all questions, regarding the organization of the different rounds, that are not explicitly addressed within these rules and regulations.
