10 years ago today was my very first time using CDJs and DJing in public at , when let me bring a couple of CDs to the gig and encouraged me to try it. Big love to my sister for taking this picture 💜
At the time I didn’t know I would actually end up doing it professionally. After about 1500 hours spent behind decks in bars and clubs, I can tell than 10 years in, I’m not wanting to ever stop doing it. It’s very challenging to keep it going sometimes because there are a lot of down moments, many doubts and uncertainty, loss of confidence and beating myself up, but there’s nothing like the feeling of partying and sharing some of my favourite songs with a bunch of like-minded people on the dancefloor 🪩

A few months ago, I agreed to take part in a uncommon challenge organised by @berlinhousemusic : mixing from a vinyl to another in less than 5 minutes, but blindfolded! By then, I had barely ever played records at my gigs, not being able to practice at home and and feeling unsure of myself. Participating in this challenge without knowing the songs, having to use a mixer I don’t like, not being able to see anything, and actually succeeding gave me a massive confidence boost, and I now play vinyls at most of my gigs (and I guess working in a record store also helps haha) You can watch the full video on YouTube via the link in my bio (and witness me struggle to find the headphones volume knob on the mixer, which ended up being the most challenging part for me) 🎛️

Yesss it’s that time of the month when we take over @oxi_club for the afternoon and night with @smallgreatthingslabel!
