Happy Hallo-weekend folks! 👻

Everyone in Slippery Rock seems to have fun plans to celebrate and enjoy the holiday with. Which is why this weeks Feature Artist Friday is a perfect fit for the occasion. The artist is multi-platinum Interscope Records recording artist Machine Gun Kelly.

As a rapper that blends contemporary and alternative hip hop with rock, as well as being well known as a punk rock artist he won "Top Rock Artist" and "Top Rock Album" at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards. MGK was also featured on a popular podcast series called Halloween in Hell last year around this time. Some people will also be attending his concert this weekend as a part of their Halloween plans due to him bringing his Born With Horns tour to the Peterson Events Center in Pittsburgh tomorrow Oct. 30. 🎃

The new studio is almost fully set up and we are definitely restless and ecstatic to get back to normal. These feature artists hopefully will become a part of a series and segment that is going to be implemented into a blog we are in the works on.

Good Afternoon! 😁

WSRU-FM is going to begin highlighting a variety of musicians every week with Feature Artist(s) Fridays! This Friday, we are going to jump a little into the past and be featuring the band The Cranberries. WSRU-FM has added them to previous shows and playlists with songs such as "Linger" and "Dreams". Since becoming a band in 1989, they have released eight studio albums, six EPs, and have sold over 50 million albums worldwide. Tune in to 88.1 FM to hear more!

Also make sure to let us know in the comments what your favorite song by The Cranberries is and if there are any artists that you would like to see WSRU-FM feature/play in the future Fridays.

Happy Homecoming week! If anyone is in town on Friday the 15th the Department of Strategic Communication & Media will be hosting Alumni for the Comm & Media Hall of Fame. Good morning! Just a FYI, WSRU-FM will be having a general body meeting today during common hour in Room 009 of the Strain Safety Building. It’s moving day!

Hey guys, it’s been awhile! We wanted to update you all on some exciting things happening here at WSRU-FM.

1) We’re moving! The University Union has been our home for over 40 years, but the building is getting a much needed facelift. Thus, we’ve gotta move. We’ll be posting photos of the new studios in the coming weeks, but right now, we need your help. If you have any photos or videos from your time at WSRU-FM, please send them to [email protected] or post them below. We’re looking to collect as much history as we can.

2) We’ve experienced interference issues over the last couple years. The good news is that we locked in funding for a new transmitter and antenna. You can see below that we picked a great day to install the new antenna ⛈.
