Want your business to be the top-listed Media Company?
With it’s first airing on Christmas Night 1994 (what a gift!), Save the Wave was originally a Monday night show, fresh out of the '80s, playing Depeche Mode, New Order, Human League, Information Society.... just to name a few. The intention of the show was not only to play '80s New Wave, but keep it's influence on the forefront of popular dance music. Founding host, Dayvv Brooks, left to pursue personal ventures in 1996. As an established DJ in Seattle, both as the creator of C89.5's Drive@5 and in the new wave/alternative '80s club scene, I was lucky enough to inherit the show. With Niko assisting in production, the show expanded to include a 1 hour mixshow (Modern Rock Mix) and segments including games and news. In 2004, Save the Wave found its way to Thursday Mornings on C89.5 to become a morning drive time mixshow which has ignited it's listener base to become one of the MOST POPULAR SHOWS on the dial! Much of the music you hear on Save the Wave is what you would expect to hear in a nightclub environment in the '80s. I've come to realize the renaissance in electronic dance music we experienced back then, and how much of a GIANT leap of technology had taken place. As the Pet Shop Boys said in an interview in 1983... "dance music will be BIGGER in the future, than we ever experienced in the '70s" - DJ Trent Von Save the Wave can be heard Thursday Mornings, 7AM-9AM (PST) on C89.5FM, KNHC, Seattle, WA.
