I’m a year olderrrr 🍰 I never really know what to do for my birthday, but I’m so glad I had a chance to spend it with some of my closest friends in Japan this year.

I went to Sanrio Puroland for the first time (which is so adorable, it’s like a mini indoor Disneyland 🥹), my friend had a Temaki-sushi Sushi Party for me and it was SO fun (I’m still thinking about the Philadelphia-salmon sushi, it was soooo good 🤤), and had a birthday dinner with my friend at sunshine city in Ikebukuro. 🥳

This year has had highs and low-lows, but I’ve learned a lot and I think I’ve grown a lot during this year too. I finally made back to Japan 2x after four years, moved out, left a job and started a job that feels so much better, and started making changes in general that make me a lot happier.

Thankful to be a year wiser 🥰 And thank you so much to my friends for celebrating my birthday with me. 🤍

I’m LOVING traveling in Tokyo! 🌸 Did you know while you’re visiting Tokyo, there are a TON a Free Wifi Spots that you can connect to?

I came to Japan for the first time in 2017, and one of the first things I was curious about was, “Is my phone going to work in Japan?!”. TOKYO FREE Wi-Fi has over 7,400 wifi spots that you can connect to for free by signing up with your email or with your favorite social media channel.

Whether you’re in Japan for a few days, or two weeks, you can enjoy automatically connecting to TOKYO FREE Wi-Fi Spots anytime you are near one, after signing up for the first time. You can connect near Tourism Boards, Phone Booths, and even when you’re at a Train Station. Visit https://wifi-tokyo.jp to locate the nearest wifi spots for your Tokyo destinations. 🌸

Here's the first new video about spending a day in Shibuya, now that I'm back in Tokyo! Can't wait to share more with you guys soon 🫶 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kgA46f245PE

Explore Shibuya with me! 📸 I just posted a brand NEW vlog on YouTube where I spend the day in one of my favorite cities in Tokyo, while staying connected with TOKYO FREE Wi-Fi! When you see a tourist information board, if you see a light blue ‘TOKYO FREE Wi-Fi’ sign, that lets you know you’re in the right spot. (Swipe to the next slide)

While connecting to Free Wifi Spots, I visited Shibuya’s brand new observation deck, and the updated Miyash*ta Park! After connecting the initial time, your phone will automatically connect to one of 7,400 wifi spots while you’re traveling in Tokyo.

I had a great time visiting new sights and visiting some of my favorite local areas as well! Stay connected during your next trip to Tokyo by going to wifi-tokyo.jp to find your nearest connection spots for your destinations!

I AM BACK IN JAPAN! (Again) ⛩️ and I got lucky enough to see some Cherry Blossoms, even though it’s SO early! I didn’t think I would see Sakura at all on this trip. 🌸

This time, I’m here for a business trip, so I haven’t had much time to explore, but I stumbled upon a few Cherry Blossoms on the way to the bus stop and some kind strangers took photos for me.

Who would’ve thought that when I started learning Japanese about 10 years ago, that it would help lead to gaining over 100K subscribers on YouTube, working at and with various Japanese companies, making a ton of Japanese and non-Japanese friends that speak Japanese, and learning more about myself.

Life isn’t perfect, and there’s even been some hiccups during this trip. I forgot to get the right ticket when I got on a high-speed train and the doors had already closed, my luggage wheel broke, I got on the wrong bus at one point, and showed up at the wrong location for one the hotels I stayed at. Looking back it’s kind of funny, but at the of the day, the food here is amazing, I love how sweet employees can be, and how people hold elevators for you and bow to you as they step out of your way or say goodbye. (And more)

On top of that, living in Japan has helped me to realize how much I love nature, and how much I’m more of a countryside girl, who loves spending a few hours in the city, and then can’t wait to take off my makeup and enjoy getting to an onsen (hot spring).

So I guess what I’m trying to say is, no matter where you are, try to find the bright side of things, and learn more about yourself. Even though I have a hard time doing that sometimes too. (I was definitely frustrated when I found out I showed up at the wrong hotel 30 minutes away 😆)

I didn’t expect this caption to be so long, but I wanted to share a little bit of my journey and my appreciation for Japan as well. If you can relate or read this far, OR have any travel hiccups & bright moments to share, leave a 🌸 below.

Love,
Paris aka lesweetpea 🩷

Just one hour outside of Tokyo lies the beautiful coastal town of Kamakura. Famous for Kotoku-in temple's 42-foot "Great Buddha", the area is filled with dozens of Zen Buddhist temples and Shinto shrines making it the perfect traditional Japanese getaway outside of Tokyo. My friends and I decided to take a day trip to Kamakura and had the chance to ride the private railway near Enoshima....
