Calliope is a magazine promoting the work of writers, poets and spoken word artists and visual artists in a monthly online and print publication
Calliope the daughter of Zeus and Mnemosyne, “beautiful-voiced” the muse of epic poetry believed to be the inspiration for Homer’s Iliad and the Odyssey. She is usually seen with a writing tablet in her hand, much like the writers of our time. It is our mission to promote the work of local writers, poets and spoken word performers with a print publication that not only showcases their work, but also lets the public know where they can be seen, heard and read.
