The Folkestone Status was started by Academy FM Folkestone as an educational project in 2014, funded by the Colyer Fergusson Charitable Trust and the Roger De Haan Charitable Trust. At the end of 2017 it gained the support of the Church & Dwight Ideas Factory, an initiative by the well-known locally-based company. The aim of the Ideas Factory is to help to make Folkestone an even better place to l

ive, work and visit by supporting selected local ideas to help achieve that aim. Thanks to the support of the Church & Dwight Ideas Factory, the Folkestone Status umbrella now covers the popular page and other social media, three weekly radio shows on Academy FM,a 'What's On' guide broadcast 18 times a week on Academy FM, and an initiative which helps local community organisations apply for funding and support.
