DAILY NEWS: Columbia University suspends students over pro-Palestinian event with ‘known’ supporters

Barakat has been associated with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, a United States-designated terrorist organization.
In a video clip Khaled Barakat tells students that his “friends and brothers” in and are looking to “students organizing outside Palestine” as they try to “stop the Israeli aggression and defeat Israel.”
Columbia Univercity Chief Operating Officer Cas Holloway announced last week that the university had notified of the event, and engaged an “outside firm led by experienced former law enforcement investigators” to conduct an investigation.
Investigators emailed the leaders of more than 100 student groups seeking information if they had communicated with suspended students or the United States-designated terrorist organization.
The individual suspensions come after kicked two Palestinian student groups off campus last semester for organizing an unauthorized campus protest.
The group Students for Justice in said the suspended students had 24 hours clear out of university housing.
