Two days ago I went to phone village at Airport Road to get my phone fixed. The children were with me in the car. As we navigated through the congested street looking for where to park, a Toyota Yaris was coming from the opposite direction, suddenly he stopped his vehicle making it impossible for other vehicles to pass. He was asked by the guys around to move his vehicle forward but he vehemently refused saying he was parked there and wasn't going anywhere. This infuriated the guys, it became a bit chaotic, insulting and threatening the driver calling him a m*d man.
He later yielded and moved his car.
Meanwhile my children watched as the drama unfolded. When we got home later that day, I was in the Kitchen and Adesuwa (my second daughter) came to me and said " mummy does a m*d man drive a car?",
Mummy: No, they can't drive a car.
Adesuwa: But there was a m*d man driving a car today.
Mummy: (Still abit confused, I had forgotten about the incident), where did you see that?
Adesuwa: The man that parked his car on the road and blocked everyone, they kept calling him a m*d man. If he is m*d why was he driving?
Mummy: 😅😅😅 Oh that 😂😂
(some adults really misbehave and you start wondering if they are mentally stable)🤣🤣

I had a sober reflection some years ago. I wondered what my life would have become if I hadn't a praying mother.
Like the Bible says in proverbs 22:6, "train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he would not depart from it".
My life is a reflection of Proverbs 22:6.
I was trained in the way of the lord. It engraved in me a reverence for God.

Now becoming a mother, I got to understand what the Bible meant by training a child in the way he should go.
I got to understand that I am a mirror to my children. And as such I needed to become a praying mother and one who models Christ.

As a parent, do you model Christ to your children? God has given you this great responsibility to raise well balanced, wholesome children. Are you prayerfully setting the right path and examples for them?.

The society yarns for a generation that reverence God. The world needs a generation that has been trained rightly and carries the light. Lightning up the dark places of the world.

Are your children the light of the next generation? Or perhaps you are unperturbed, leaving their upbringing to chance?

Reflect on these words and may the Holy spirit guide you.
