I am an egotistical, narcissistic jerk.

I know it. God knows it. But God never stops showing me how He loves me. The fact is, as Tullian says, we are all in the pit at the same level. I have been so far down in the pit that I could see no daylight - a pit of my own digging. God’s grace, mercy, and love are the only forces strong enough to get me out. But He doesn’t pull me out, He gets in with me and loves me there, and I hold on as He climbs us out. On the way up, He doesn’t chastise me about my egoism or narcissism. He just tells me that He loves me and will be with me no matter what.

There is no one like Jesus.

If Jesus paid for all of your sins on the cross, what is left for you to pay? When scripture tells us Jesus said, “It is finished”, the apostle John uses a Greek accounting term that means “paid in full”.

What was finished? His sacrifice.

What was paid in full? Your sin debt to God.

If you are reading this, chances are you weren’t there when Jesus died. But your sins were, and Jesus paid for all of them. You receive all of that forgiveness at salvation. Therefore, God will never be angry again with you. He will discipline and correct, but unlike our earthy parents, God doesn’t discipline his children in anger. His anger against Christians was satisfied on the cross.

Salvation is a gift. Gifts do not require payment, just acceptance.

Happy Easter. Jesus rose from the dead. This is a historical fact. Read “The Case for Christ”, if you don’t think so.

Because he rose from the dead and is alive forever, you can live forever in joy and happiness with him. Or you can live forever separated from God and everyone you ever loved. Even if your loved ones are in hell, you won’t be with them. Hell is isolated torture.

God loves you, yes you, so much that he sent his son, Jesus, to save you. You can’t just relegate Jesus to “philosopher” or “religious teacher”. No other philosopher or religious teacher came back to life after being dead for 3 days. That is what Easter is about. In the words of Dr Frankenstein, Easter is about “the reanimation of dead tissue”. And the death was caused by your sin and my sin. And just as Jesus was resurrected, so will you be. The question is will you be raised to an eternally isolated and dark existence, or to one of joy, surrounded by friends and family, and relating face-to-face with Jesus?

Easter is about resurrection. You will be resurrected. Jesus has made it possible for you to be resurrected to eternal life instead of the eternal death that we deserve.

Calling the God of the Universe a liar is not a wise thing to do. Believe the truth about Jesus, and you will be resurrected to eternal life. Call Jesus a liar, and you will be resurrected to eternal torment.

The message of Easter is hope. The hearts of man are evil continually. That is what the Bible says (Gen 6:5). God has made a way out of the torture and isolation we deserve. Easter is another reminder. Jesus has made a way for you. Don’t ignore it. Let this be YOUR Easter. Let this be the Easter that you change your life forever.

On Good Friday, all of my sin was laid upon Jesus - my sins and my Sin - my bad acts and my depraved heart. He bore the penalty for it all. There is no penalty left for me to pay. Even the shame of failing on so many levels He has born. When He said “It Is finished”, what was “it”?
If you are a Christian, here is the it:

Separation from God - finished. (HEB 13:5)

Feelings of Guilt - finished. (HEB 10:2)

Living with shame - finished. (Romans 10:11)

Working to be right with God - finished. (Romans 3:20)

Payment in full for every single one of your sins - finished. (Romans 4:8)

Qualifying for Resurrection - finished.(1 Cor 15:22)

Insecurity about being good enough - finished. (Romans 5:18)

Being under the curse of the law - finished. (Gal 3:13)

Your name written in the book of life - finished (Rev 21:27).

Holy Spirit resides in you- finished (Luke 24:49)

Being rejected by God - finished (HEB 13:5)

Being dominated by fear - finished. (1 John 4:18)

Being alone - finished. (HEB 13:5)

Although these changes are instant and eternal for every Christian in the spiritual dimension, the working out of these truths in our lives on earth IS the Christian walk. The essence of the work is simply rejecting unbelief and instead believing these truths above.

You can keep trying to work hard to show your own goodness. Or you can accept the sacrifice that Jesus paid for you, and be finished with striving to make it to heaven.

It is finished.
The work is done.
The price has been paid.
None of us could ever pay the price, so Jesus paid ALL of it.
God is satisfied with the price that was paid.
Nothing is owed when a price is paid in full.
There is nothing left to do.

On Good Friday, Jesus purchased our freedom. When we think about the price He paid, horrible suffering and death like a criminal, we realize that we are bankrupt and he is the only One with any ability to redeem us. He did. He redeemed us on Good Friday.
What are you going to do with this information? If God is speaking to your heart, then you know this is all true. Deep down, this has resonated with you. This proves that you are one who is being drawn by God. And all who are drawn by the Father will come to Jesus (John 6:37).

It was finished on Good Friday, when Jesus said it was.
It is still finished.

This post is for Christians. I debate atheists and agnostics often. But this is for believers. If the comments get off topic, I’ll delete them.

I have recently run into a situation where people CHOOSE to remain baby Christians. That is not good. If you are a child of God and have been going to the same church for years, but still don’t know your faith, your church has failed you! And, according to this verse, where it will hit you is - you won’t be able to tell right from wrong!!!!! I see this so much nearly every day! It is very sad.

”You have been believers so long now that you ought to be teaching others. Instead, you need someone to teach you again the basic things about God’s word. You are like babies who need milk and cannot eat solid food. For someone who lives on milk is still an infant and doesn’t know how to do what is right. Solid food is for those who are mature, who through training have the skill to recognize the difference between right and wrong.“

He secured our redemption FOREVER!
Either Christians are “secure” (a word used in this verse, btw), or we are not. If we are not secure, how utterly misleading is the verse? But we are secure, and this verse clearly states that truth.
If you live in fear of losing your salvation, you have misunderstood God’s message to you, which is:

”My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can sn**ch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. No one can sn**ch them from the Father’s hand. The Father and I are one.”“

No one can sn**ch a Christian from God’s hand. No one includes the Christian that is in God’s hand. Legalists will tell you that since it doesn’t specifically say that a Christian can’t remove himself from the Father’s hand, it must be possible. But then this scripture is misleading. Why didn’t Jesus say “No one, EXCEPT YOURSELF, can sn**ch you from the Father’s hand”? Because he said what he meant - no one. We shouldn’t add any “buts” to that. Adding to scripture is not a good thing.

We begun by grace, undeserved kindness, and we continue by that same grace (read Galatians if you disagree).
The Christian life is never about being shamed for not living up to the standard. It is always about admitting our works are worthless, and instead, trusting in a work that was done for us 2000 years ago. Christian, the prescription for a peaceful life - trust God more and yourself less. God loves you. You know that. He is the perfect parent. No human parents are perfect - far from it. But God can be trusted. And he said he will never leave us or forsake us. That is the good news. We should remind ourselves every day that God, who began a good work in us WILL finish that work. I am certain of that.

Happy New Year to my family and friends. I have a feeling that 2024 may be even more crazy that 2023. If you are worried about the future, remember that God is in control and things are going according to plan. Trust Jesus. He died for you. Give your life to him. This world is not getting better. We all see it. The Bible says it will get worse and worse.

When you become saved - which means accepting the gift of eternal life from Jesus - your treasure is no longer here in earth. Things are going to get much worse here before Jesus returns. He is our only hope

Sorry if this is not the most positive New Year message, but in the end, it is. This world is a sinking ship and it cannot be repaired. It is time to get in the lifeboat. The lifeboat is Jesus.

So my wish for you and me is that we draw closer to Jesus in 2024. That way, no matter how the year turns out, you can have peace. There is only one source of peace in these troubling times.

Jesus said:

“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.“

I wish you peace in 2024. If you don’t have a relationship with The Prince of Peace, you won’t have peace - I mean REAL peace deep in your heart. Please reach out to me if you want to pray to receive Jesus in your heart.

Open The Door

Merry Christmas to my friends and family. This day we celebrate that the Prince of Peace was born. Jesus came to the world and the world rejected Him. But whoever receives and does not reject Him will live forever. His birth split our timeline. Where do you stand with Jesus?

The Bible says He is standing at the door of your heart. Having a relationship with Jesus is a simple as talking to Him. Tell him you believe that He died for you. Ask him to come into your heart and guide your life. Repent of (which means to rethink or change your mind about) your sins. Agree with God about your sins and ask for forgiveness.

You don’t need a priest or pastor or a Saint to go between you and Jesus. The Bible says there is only one mediator between The Father and us, and that mediator is Jesus. You are not too messed up to come to Him. Humble yourself and give your life to Jesus. You will have the peace in your heart that you are searching for.

There is only one God, and the Mediator He has provided to make relationship possible with Himself is Jesus. Jesus was 100% innocent of any sins, yet he chose to allow himself to be beaten, tortured, and killed to make a way for you and I to live forever.

If you feel uncomfortable or nervous reading this, it just might be that today is the day you experience Jesus knocking on the door of your heart. Today could be the beginning of your new life in Christ.

Open the door.

I hope this is the Merriest Christmas for you, and the one that marks the beginning your new life.

Have you ever wondered why Jesus had to die? These verses in Hebrews clearly state the reason:

”Because God’s children are human beings—made of flesh and blood—the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death. Only in this way could he set free all who have lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying.“
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭2‬:‭14‬-‭15‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Only as a human being could Jesus die, and only by dying could he save all of us who live our lives as SLAVES to the fear of dying. I have seen slaves to the fear of dying. I have seen the fear up close. But I have also been present when Christians have died, and it is different. They rarely love the process, but they have an amazing hope that gives them peace. This is why Jesus came, so we could be free from the fear of dying.

Only in this way could he set free all who have lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying.
