I grew up in a house full of art and music. Every space from my childhood smelled like paint, and radiated with the sounds of Motown. My mom’s studio spaces and my Dad’s collection of guitars. My brother and I were encouraged to create.

As a little kid living on the Upper East Side of NYC, I remember nights spent dancing around the living room while my Dad strummed his old Martin and sang tunes… it is a core memory of pure joy, one that I hold on to tightly as I walk through the challenges of modern life.

That inspiration is one that I brought with me to Muscle Shoals last month, where I recorded a tune called “Daddy” in tribute to that spirit of connection through music. It's absolutely beautiful, thanks to my talented friends Sol Philcox-Littlefield and Craig Alvin. It’ll be coming at you soon, once I figure out which photo to use for the cover. Music is Love.
